Logitech 920 vs. Microsoft Lifecam...live comparison test.

Model Adorabubbles did her shift with two cameras on at the same time to compare the two brands. For my money I have to say I think the Lifecam blew the logitech out of the water.
Even people in the room were commenting there was much better color and detail on the lifecam.

Makes me curious if any other ladies out there have both webcams and software to use both at the same time. I'd love to know which one holds up better under more conditions on cam.

In this one models room the lifecam was better quality. I didn't notice any autofocus lag like mentioned in the youtube comparison but if there were more tests by models that might show up. As far as pixels or video glitches I didn't really notice any bad parts on either.

What I found interesting was it was the same computer on the same streaming feed at the same time so it gave a pretty good comparison.

It's a little hard to judge just by the video, although the MSLS does look pretty darned sweet. There can be a fair amount of fiddling with the software required to get the best picture for a given lighting environment.

If anything, this suggests that a model shouldn't necessarily ditch her MSLS if she owns one and is just starting out camming and think she has to buy a Logitech.

My understanding is that when most models are looking for an upgrade they jump to like $600 cams instead of shopping around for a higher quality same cost cam. I would be really surprised if most chicks branched out to other same-cost cameras because Logitech is so accepted as being the highest quality for the price.

The question becomes, does it matter what a third parties review is of a particular product when it is obvious for this model, with her computer, cam setup and using it on MFC that the Lifecam is much better?

I have always found reviews of products to just be a good starting point. If I really care to find the best product for myself, I will try a few different products. Decide which is best for me and go with that one. That being said, I, like a lot of people do not want the hassle of buying multiple products to test out and having to return the ones that I don't want. So, we tend to go with what we hope are objective reviews.

Brand loyalty tends to be big too. Logitech is/was known for the best webcams at a good price point but that wont always necessarily be true in the future.

The lifecam was my first webcam and I hated it :? I could never make it look right.
I just went from a Logitech 9000 to a Logitech C920 and I'm pretty happy with it.

I find a lot of the clarity issues to be an issue with streaming on MFC. My c920 cam on streamate is amazing, as soon as I try the same cam on MFC it's horrible.

I'd like to see the video quality comparison as well because I'm curious, is the video quality always better or it just better at streaming/compressing for web?

I switched from a Lifecam to Logitech. Logitech is SO MUCH better. By far. Amber was very helpful to me when I was switching and pointed out that even after playing with my white balance like crazy on the Lifecam, I always looked really pink. On the Logitech I actually look normal colored and things are a bunch clearer.

I have no pictures for comparison anymore though and do not care to locate my Lifecam to test it out. Too late, too tired.

Any time in the past that I had watched a model using a lifecam I was appalled at the quality.

Is this a brand new version that sucks less? Or is it the older one being used by models who have a masters degree in cam driver settings?

I was thinking that might have happened as well. It is always possible that the lifecam changed some components but I suppose it is equally possible that the model ended up with a lemon logitech.

One other possibility is that the images were mislabeled and what looks better was actually the logitech. :lol:
