I am a new user to online model platforms, using Chaturbate exclusively at this time, and after a week or so of using it, I saw an option pop up to spy on a private show when a model I was really into suddenly disappeared, so I clicked on it and spent several minutes watching. I was really enjoying the show, so I tipped the model. Within less than a minute of me tipping, the show ended with no warning. Even the model looked confused. After being sent back to public, another private show started almost immediately, again with the option to spy. I thought perhaps there was an issue with the show, so I re-entered the new show, and after several more minutes, I again tipped the model and the show again ended abruptly. The again looked confused and I felt sorry for her as she was really into the session - at least by the flushed look on her face. We popped back into public chat and within a minute or less, she had logged off, no warning., but not after typing away on her keyboard, appearing to have been in a private chat with someone.
I was so confused by what happened, and after thinking about it more, wondered if perhaps the "initiator" was offended by my being there as it was a "private" show. My thought at the time was, I am enjoying a nice show, and the "activities" being provided were more than what she offered in public, and therefore she should be compensated appropriately. But after having experienced what I did, I am wondering if I broke some unwritten rule that you can spy, but don't tip??!!
Consequently, being who I am, and not knowing much about private, I clicked on the Private button to see if there were some "rules" I didn't know about. All I observed were two options for the show - one that allows others to spy, and one that is exclusive, but with a price difference, the second being more expensive. If this other user was pissed at me for spying on their show, why didn't they take her exclusive? Seems to me this person wanted the "exclusive" experience and was too cheap to pay for it. However, considering that the model immediately logged off after the second time it's left me feeling like I violated this unwritten rule.
My thoughts on the matter are if I was the model and could make extra cash during a private show, that's a plus, especially if the person was to cheap to pay for exclusive. Her actions suggest maybe I did I break some sacred covenant of the camming world - "Thou shalt be allowed to spy on another's private show, but never let your presence be known (even if you're a cheap fuck and didn't spring for exclusive)."
So, because this makes no sense to me, I'm here looking for some direction on etiquette in this circumstance. Provider and user comments welcomed!
