Finally saw it (pun intended)
Typical gorefest with a tiny bit of story to go with it like the first 27 in the series. The end is a head scratcher though.
SPOILY TIME!:
A best selling author is forced to "play the game". His book is supposedly a "how I survived Jigsaw" biopic. The problem? He is full of shit and has never been targeted by Jigsaw til now! He fails to save his publicist,lawyer, and best friend who are all aware of the lie and are cashing in on it. HIs wife is the last victim, who is the only one who doesn't kinow that her hubby is a sham. Fittingly, the dude is forced to endure the same trap that he described escaping in his book: Giant fish hooks through his pectoral muscles as he has to hoist himself up a good 20 ft to plug together 2 ends of an extention cord.
The original Jigsaw's widow finally get killed. The bad cop that has been jigsaw for the last (2?) movies maybe? gets his just desserts. In a finale that is supposed to be the last Saw (I've heard that before) the doctor from the original Saw that saws off his own leg to get free captures bad cop and locks him in the same scenerio that he endured, EXCEPT he thows the saw WAAAY out of reach,slams the door shut and proclaims GAME OVER!
When they catch bad cop guy, 3 or 4 "pig masks" attack him. one being doctor dude and assumably other Jigsaw survivors. SO is this the real end or do we have a whole new crew to keep us entertained for the haloween weekends for the next 3 or 4 years?
The end was real clusterfuckish and seem rushed. It was obvious 1/2 way through the movie that doctor dude was going to play a role so it wasn't that big of a suprise when it happened. This whole "there must always be a lich ki... er, Jigsaw" stuff was pretty lame after the 3rd movie IMO.
There is a totally random trap scene to start off the movie that anyone that has ever been in a love triangle will get a giggle out of. There is also trap scene involving a fish hook that made me laugh and nearly throw up at the same time!
