Thanks for asking so many great questions!
I’ll try to make it a little clearer for you what the event is all about. This event is exactly what it appears to be – a how-to workshop and networking opportunity for new cam models in the Denver area. The cannabis contest and sushi rolling is just for fun. I personally love cannabis and sushi, so I figured why not incorporate these into the event? Why not add more incentive to come out and have fun?
This event is the first of its kind here in Denver (as far as I know), and this is the first time I’m doing it… so some things are still being organized and planned out. Some of the details such as the full event agenda and speaker line-up is still being worked out (see below for what I have so far regarding speakers).
One of the topics that we will be addressing during the event is ACF. ACF helped me immensely when I had a million questions about camming. I will push the girls to get “model verified” and to find friends in the community ASAP. As you models know, connecting with other models who can help you jump through the learning curve more quickly can really be advantageous as opposed to trying to figure everything out on your own.
After having given this some more thought, I’m now realizing that I should open the opportunity to speak at the event to ANY MODEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, and I’ll have them speak to the event attendees via Skype. We’ll have a big screen setup so the model can speak to the girls directly, and a webcam setup on the girls to help you interact with them and so they can ask questions. You seemed to think that I was asking for volunteers, but this is a paid gig and the fee can be negotiated. Why not make some money while helping new models get started?
Now let me try to address your questions:
Q: You'll be outing the location of any girls who do show up (because obviously they're within driving distance of Denver). This won't be a problem for models who already say publicly that they're in/near CO.
No one is being “outed”. The general public (and men) are not allowed into the event unless they are directly related to the event (budtenders, venue staff, sushi chef, etc). This event is for new cam models, and hence they more than likely have not even signed up with a cam company yet. So as far as the general public goes, they are just girls going to a workshop for cam models. Being outed will be a topic of discussion at the workshop, and the girls will get a full briefing on when to expect regarding being outed, how to deal with being outed, and how to handle the situation. I fail to see how a girl would be outed by attending if she isn’t a model yet, and if the only people in attendance are other girls who are also considering becoming cam models.
The attendees will be instructed on the importance of being safe online – there is an entire part of the workshop geared towards safety online and offline. Cam models who are established are invited to attend as well, but they have no need to announce that they are coming, or to announce their cam name at the event unless they want to.
Q: You say it's "geared towards young women in Denver who are interested in learning how to get started in the cam world," but you haven't said what models are going to be giving this advice.
We are currently in search of the right cam model(s) to speak at the event (hence the reason for the original post!). We do have other speakers (see below) who can address topics of interest to these potential new cam models.
Q: It's great that you're asking here for volunteers, but surely you've already got some speakers lined up (or it would be a terrible idea, otherwise).
Some of the speakers I am in the process of lining up are as follows:
1. A feminist academic speaker and author. – She wants to gear her part of the workshop to be about healthy boundaries and feminist-flavored sex work.
2. A female entrepreneur/ CEO who runs a Passion Party franchise. – She will be speaking about sex toy safety, sex toy proper use, working for yourself, time management and more.
3. A female licensed counselor. – She will be speaking about the mental health aspects of camming, what it means to work in the adult industry, how to feel like part of a community, and what it means to be outed, etc.
You see that I am developing the event to be about the MANY aspects of camming, and the topics that exist on the periphery. This is why I am seeking an experienced cam model to speak to topics only they can speak to – the nuts and bolts, the act of actually camming. Ideally for this I am seeking a model that has been in the biz for several years.
The event is part informational, and part feminist empowerment. The exact vibe/flavor of the event seems to be fluid and developing, right?…..That’s because it is! I am working to formulate the message, material, and take-away for the girls as we speak. Since this is the first event in a series, I am trying to hone in on what is needed/best for the girls to take away from the event. It is by no means a “come learn how to hook up your webcam” event. (Although we will cover that…).
Q: The perks are confusing. You keep saying "Cam Cup" and "Cannabis Contest" but haven't explained what that is. Is it who can smoke the most weed? Who can identify different strains? Who looks best in marijuana-leaf clothing?
This probably makes more sense to Colorado locals. Here in Colorado, cannabis contests are common place. We’re going to be having a contest where girls 21+ can sample various types of cannabis – flower (smoke it), concentrate (vape or dab it), and edible (nom nom). They then vote which they liked best. So if we have 5 different types of flower, they will sample several flavors, and then choose their favorite. It’s not about who can smoke the most or who can ID different strains (good luck! Even budtenders who work with the products daily can’t differentiate different strains), and as far as who looks best in 420 clothing? We all do! This is an inclusive and sex-positive event; no one will be judging anything besides the cannabis products ;-).
Attendees will also have the opportunity to try out an “Enail” – which is a SUPER healthy way to “dab” (lots of new verbiage here girls….Google)
We will be giving away a $400 Enail from Galaxy Enails at the conclusion of Cam Cup.
Another reason for the 420 flavor, is that we will be promoting 420 camming – using cannabis and cannabis culture in cam shows. Attendees that are not into 420 culture will not be pushed into it, nor made to be exposed to cannabis. There are so many topics being covered, that a girl who avoids 420 culture will not have issues.
Q: I just can't see how cannabis could have anything to do with a contest.
Three words – This is Colorado. This isn’t a new concept.
Q: The perks seem to be random and not related to the workshop. The class is all about camming (marketing, technology, equipment, etc), but there's a sushi-rolling class?????? Yeah, learning to roll sushi might be fun! But it isn't something that directly correlates to camming (unless you can incorporate it into your shows, like if you're an Asian or Asian-inspired model).
Hell yea sushi! I am obsessed with sushi and trust me, people here in Denver love sushi too. This was an idea that I came up with immediately after envisioning the workshop. See, when you host an all-day workshop you need to provide food. I could just have Panera or a sub place cater the event….
Boooorrring! I wanted to have sushi!
Then when I was wondering what to do with the 18-21 year olds during Cam Cup (since they are not of legal age for marijuana), someone suggested having them roll sushi with a sushi chef. This way they get “to roll” too.
Q: But it isn't something that directly correlates to camming (unless you can incorporate it into your shows, like if you're an Asian or Asian-inspired model).
We aren’t really promoting sushi rolling on cam. If a model wishes to do so, great, I’m all for originality, but the sushi rolling activity is just a sushi rolling activity….and sushi eating! We will have vegan and gluten free options as far as sushi goes. And the cam model who comes to speak (in-person) is invited to roll and eat sushi as well!
Q: It would be similar to Comic-Con having a "Learn to play the violin!" workshop. They just don't go together, regardless of how fun it is. It seems like the creator of the convention simply knows a person who teaches violin (or received a bunch of violins at a discount/free) and is grasping at straws to make the event more fun.
I would totally attend a how-to- play-violin workshop at a comic con! Mash-ups are so next level in my opinion. I am reaching out to a kick-ass sushi spot near the venue and having a sushi chef come out to roll with the girls who can’t or don’t want to attend the cannabis contest. And yes, I am adding all sorts of activities to make this event super fun.
Q: We have no idea who you are. You say that you're "Tricia," but are you a cam model? Were you previously? Do you cam on Twitch? What are your (and/or the creators of this event's) qualifications? How do we know that you (and the other creators) aren't a man or just trying to do this to meet models?
I tried camming for a short time and realized that there is a huge opportunity in providing opportunities (i.e. events) for model education, networking, and content creation. I am a female event organizer (primarily for non-profits in the past) who is now organizing cam model events in Colorado and eventually around the country. The company I am setting up (Cam Planet LLC) to run these events will focus especially on highlighting future cam technology (e.g. VR/AR), content production, promotion, networking, and model education. You will be seeing a lot of me and my company in the future.
No I am not on Twitch, but I see the Twitch-type format as being an amazing starting place for new cam models. Twitch.tv itself does not condone adult-oriented content, but this isn’t a showstopper. It’s straightforward to modify your cam on any website, or your own site, to look similar to a Twitch set-up.
And I should mention that I am totally doing this to meet cam models to help me further the objectives I’ve listed above and grow the company. In the coming year, we will be attending most cam model events around the country, AVN, Cam Con, Exxxotica, etc. My goal is to employ several amazing cam models who want to travel and produce awesome content, oh… and BANK!

A couple of other quick notes about the event…
· We are getting a comedian to come make us laugh during the luncheon!
· We will also be giving away tons of prizes and services. Think sex toys from Passion Parties, salon services local to Denver, books on healthy feminist ideals, and a lot more!
