This is honestly a massive privacy risk for people in the UK, especially Cam Models. I have no idea wtf they're doing but this can't go through. It's a moneypot for hackers and the government has a history of massive data breaches. Thats not even considering it's very facistic and unethetical. It will primarily affect those who don't have internet or are homeless.

Basically yeah. They thought going further to the right would work which is incredibly dumb because those who are already obsesed with "the small boats" are going to vote for Reform anyway. Now a large portion of their voters have moved to The Greens or The Lib Dems.

Calling immigrants "illegal" is a tactic used to dehuminize a group of people, in the same way Trump uses the word "Aliens". If you repeat it enough people start to believe it but in reality these people are just trying to escape persecution, war or make a better life for themselves.

People seem to forget that the UK is not accepting a disproportionate amount of asylum seekers compared to the rest of Europe at all and back in 2002 we accepted about 84000 applicants at a time where the world population was smaller and we didn't have a European War at our doorstep.

The reality is we have weak leaders who are happy to blame minority groups who can't easily defend themselves in numbers. Be that disabled people, Trans People or Immigrants. Countries do need a functional immigration system and you can't just accept anyone for any reason but what we have at the moment where we force people to travel across the english channel in small boats due to a lack of safe immigration routes, where border staff are cut dramatically causing a massive backlog in applicants. It doesn't work and it never will.

Whats worse is when governments cut all kinds of immigration we end up in situations where some of our institutions can't even function properly. Universities suffered a massive cut in funding as the Tory government cut VISA access for certain international students. My friend who works in a University that relies heavily on Indian and Chinese students had a pay cut as a result and they've had to cut the amount of degrees they offer substantially.
