What is it like to be a cam model, gamer/streamer and youtuber all at the same time?

Hey guys,

I've been wanting to be an online gamer/streamer on Twitch and Youtube for a long time now but it costs so much for all the required equipment so I never did it and then when I discovered cam models and that you can actually make a lot of money doing it, not only that but I like the idea of it and I'm a naughty person in a sexual way naturally, so I decided I wanted to be a cam model instead, however lately I've been taking time for myself and trying to figure things out and I realize that I actually would like to be both a gamer/streamer and cam model at the same time because gaming is a hobby of mine and if you can make a bit of money out of it at the same time, then why not stream when I play games...

But the thing I'm worried about is people who come to my Youtube or Twitch channel and recognize me from an adult website, like how would they react, would they leave nasty comments, would i get a lot of hate...etc.. I mean I know this will probably happen, every online gamer or Youtuber gets hate comments whether they're a cam model or not, but I guess I'm more worried about being exposed.

Like for example lets say I'm streaming a game live and some random hater comes in my room and leaves a link to my cam model channel and there just so happens to be someone I know, like a friend or someone from my area who's in my room (you can't block regions on twitch and youtube, or at least not that i'm aware of) when this happens then I run the risk of family members and people from my area finding out and that just causes extra anxiety I don't need. I wouldn't care what they think, imo sexuality and being creative is a beautiful thing, I just wouldn't want the risk of people who actually know me finding out and then it could potentially complicate other things in my life like dating, not being accepted for future opportunities, getting hate comments or nasty looks in real life, people not being accepting of me, social media not giving me the verified check mark for being a Youtuber (because they'd consider me "a bad influence") and probably a bunch of other things.

Or maybe I'm just overthinking all of this? Let me know your thoughts and opinions or tips about this please and also if you are a cam model and a gamer/streamer at the same time please let me know how the experience is for you?

Also just wanted to mention that someone told me already to wear a mask but I just feel like I wouldn't be as successful and I don't want to just cam for fun, I want to make a career out of it and have a friendly relationship with regulars.

Thanks to everyone, have a great day :) !

Even without adding a public vanilla presence like youtube/twitch we typically advise new ppl not to start camming if they are concerned about exposure. It's very very common to be outed as a model and you should be prepared. Facial recognition software is getting more and more advanced and once u stream on a cam site the video is recorded and you will be reposted other places, which can be difficult or impossible to remove. Judging on what you said I would not advise you to start camming. Phonesex or sexting may be one Avenue you could try instead

I'm only concerned about being outed in real life like in the area I live in. I wouldn't want people trying to stalk me a whatnot. I was thinking that I could do only private shows instead but I know some of those still get recorded but do you know or anyone knows if the "recording bots" are able to record shows from a region that I have blocked?

Thanks

The internet doesn’t have regions. If your videos get posted on Pornhub or illegal capping sites anyone from your area can come across them and if you are streaming on twitch or YouTube people will DIG. And then they will post it in your chat, on 4chan, etc... if you have any concerns about being outed in any way DO NOT mix up your camgirl presence with vanilla notoriety online.

True. I guess I'll have to get over what other people think of me and not give a fuck before I start.

That's exactly what I was talking about. When i started camming i was recognized and outed in my town within 3 months. I lost my job and most of my friends.

I've been recognized in public so many times. It happens.

Even if u only do private shows, you will still need to appear on stream in public chat to get those shows. Even clothes this is an adult site and can cause issues.

It doesnt matter if the bots recording you are from where u are. They will post your recorded stream to multitudes of sites where you will have no ability to geo block. Geoblocking also doesnt work if anyone uses a VPN.

There are sites u can take a regular picture of me, put it in an image search and it pulls up 100s of my pirated cam streams. Its rare for privates to be recorded and posted but it doesn't matter.

There are other forms of sex work you can try if privacy is a major concern but camming is not something you can keep under.wraps easily.

Also consider future career choices. Depending where u live, certain career paths may be difficult or impossible if you have been camming. Even things like international travel can become difficult. I'm not trying to scare u, camming can be rewarding and if you're smart it's usually pretty safe. But I think you gotta go in without any illusions about what it is you're choosing

Geo blocking gives people a false sense of security. Like already mentioned the internet has no regions. All it takes is one person to recognize you, from either cam modeling/videos or vanilla streaming they connect the dots and your info is out. Even if you consider yourself a small time streamer it just takes that one person recognizing you.

Either you keep to one or the other or take Miss lollipops advice and just stick to phones for sex work. Finding work outside sex work can become very limited once you've started camming and if everyone knows, hiding it and having a cover job kinda becomes impossible so definitely make sure you're okay with that. I suggest checking out the reality check thread. I'm on mobile so I'm not going to try and link it but I'm pretty sure it's a pinned thread on here so it's easy to find.

Edit to say I see miss lolli beat me to the punch 🤭

Unless you're completely comfortable & open about camming to people IRL and/or online, on any platform- This would definitely be the fastest way to be outed by assholes on SFW streams. If you own it, with no shame- no one can ever hold it against you. People are going to find out if you cam. 100%. you just have to weigh the risks vs. the rewards for you personally.

Yeah exactly, like I'd own it and be proud of myself. It would just suck to not be accepted for things like a few people mentioned travelling... But I mean if was an online gamer/streaming and youtube at the same time I guess I can simply say my source of income is coming from gaming/streaming and Youtube. I don't think they would find out I'm a cam model unless they magically figure out what my username is... But idk, I've never really traveled before since I don't have the money but travelling a lot is one of my dreams...

Let me know if you travelled before, if you had a hard time or not and what did you tell them when they ask about your income or personal questions.

Thanks guys :h:

I've never traveled internationally so I cant help there. I have a 'vanilla' day job that speaks for my income but I make more camming than anything. Most of my close friends know & I'm prepared to tell any one else that asks (within reason) I don't do anything on cam that I would want being recorded (because it is) thats the beauty of camming - you make it what YOU want. There's no rule saying you have to be super explicit, so sticking with what I'm comfortable with has helped ease my mind on being 'outed'.

International travel is where it gets tricky. It's usually a smaller issue though just take precautions. Coming into the US before my greencard I used to wipe my work phone and I wouldn't carry any cam related stuff. Girls attending conventions are often turned back at the us border on suspicion of prostitution.
