I am sure we all know a WoW movie is in the works. Who is your favorite WoW NPC and which actor or actress do you think would be best playing that NPC?

While you are thinking, check out this interview with Sam Raimi:

....and for the record, I like Thrall (actually, Warcraft 3 Thrall) and I think Michael Clarke Duncan would be an AWESOME Thrall!

On another note.....Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are great friends and Sam puts Bruce in all his movies, so who knows. AND there would be no better Lich King than Christopher Walken.
Lich King to Arthas: So I hid that sword in the only place I knew they wouldn't find it....in my ass. (nuff said)

I'm actually having a hard time imagining a World of Warcraft movie that doesn't absolutely fail OR retell a story from one of the books or games. I guess we'll see when it's more than 40 pages of roughly developed story and characters.

Yeah I agree...I don't think there's any NEED for wow to be made into a movie.

Like those terrible D&D films...if the selling point is that the film is set in azeroth they need to stop before they just screw up Blizzard's good name.

I'm having a hard time thinking of even one good film where the setting wasn't incidental to it being good.

Plot, writing, acting, directing - these things and more when they're done really well and work together make a great film, but it pretty much never happens when there's a franchise involved like there is with games; cos the setting and the game background is the only reason they'd even consider making it in the first place.

There are a ton of fully-developed fantasy storylines out there that could potentially make great films - and wow actually references many of them (as well as a thousand other things from pop culture etc). I remember how cool I thought it was when I first went to BRD and realized all the prisoners were references to the HBO series Oz - tobias beecher (tobias seecher), chris keller (crest killer), simon adebisi (ograbisi), jazz hoyt (jaz) and shillinger (shill dinger) LOL.

Also Christopher Walken is about 35 years too old to be Arthas lol.

PS yeah Blind is awesome :D
