Because the word ‘sister’ (even if it’s typed as ‘sisters’ or ‘sister’s’) still shouldn’t have appeared in the chat, right? So hopefully it’s just a glitch, and not going to be a regular issue.

Unfortunately only the word exactly as spelled is banned if it is in someone's banned words and phrases box. So in this case, the OP had "sister" in his banned words, but not "sisters", which was why that message was able to get through.

Is it not possible to introduce wildcards?
For example: sister* case insentive word sister or sisters or sisterz etc etc.
Or sister? ? can be any letter.
* means all letters that follow. Just like a directory listing.

It's a tricky situation. Most users will see "oh I can't write this word in the chat" and leave it be. But there is always that one person who will then write sisster, sistter, zister, s1ster, sisterrr, s.i.s.t.e.r and every variation they can think of to get past the banned word list .
