Maybe this has been discussed before...

I am a knight for several models and I get so frustrated when one user does all the tipping and brings (sometimes) hundreds of other users with tokens into the room and they just sit by and watch for free.

What (polite) words can I say in public chat to encourage the others?

Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you

Ai will give you bad information when you ask it about things it's not been trained on. There are models that within the industry do have the brand power that Gucci has in the fashion industry.

sure, marketing isnt important, it cant change someones view of a brand, the only thing that matters in the cam business is putting on a show. I mean why would we listen to someone with a decade of experience in the cam industry who takes the time to educate you on how things actually work.
I see, so now we’ve got the ultimate wisdom: “Don’t trust AI,” and “Believe in a decade of industry experience.” No need for logic or discussion, because if "you’re the truth," then it's no longer a debate, it’s a religion.

The claim that “there are models with Gucci-level power” and “price strategy and substance don’t matter” is a leap of logic, or rather, self-harm. Comparing a century-old brand to an individual model with just a few months of experience doesn’t hold any brand strategy together.

Using the rocket analogy: marketing may launch you, but if the content is empty, no one’s staying. The real issue is “Is there any substance in the first place?” but that’s being completely ignored in favor of saying, “Just get attention, and you’ll win.” This mindset is already off-track.

And then there’s the “Gucci can sell high because of marketing” argument. Manufacturing costs, cultural assets, customer base, rarity—all of these are ignored, and somehow, it’s assumed an individual model can replicate that. In a way, it’s a talent for avoiding reality.

“Only my success experience is correct,” “Other perspectives don’t matter”—this rigidity is the very thing that’s stopping success.

There is a reason why I said what I said about AI, it's something else I do know a fair amount about since one of the businesses I run is an AI company, if you ask ai about information it hasn't been trained on it will make things up, if you are not specific enough, it will make things up. (Also dont blindly trust AI output is good advice, also dont blindly trust information people say, information in books etc, you take the information, you read more about it from multiple sources and speak to people with experiance in the subject... this is how we learn new things ) AI (LLM's) are basically nothing more than fancy predicitve text.

Who said anything about months of experience, there are plenty of people in the industry that have over a decade in experience and you also missed the point of that comparison to start with, the entire point was that you market to the audience that you are looking for, but with little to no understanding of marketing that obviously went over your head. Gucci markets themselvs as a luxery brand, they attract customers that like to show off the appearance of wealth, that is why they are able to charge those prices, it's called brand positioning.

What stops success is listening to people that have no idea what they are talking about. Can models be successful without marketing, kind of, there will still be marketing done for them, but it wont be them doing it, it would be people talking about the model ie/ word of mouth marketing. But the question is why would you hope something will happen instead of taking advantage of everything you can to ensure that success? Marketing is what gets as many eyes on room / product / service etc as possible, not just stipping off and doing a show for free because you saw someone else doing it and getting tips.

Anyway, I'm done. Your trying to argue about a topic you have no experience in or knowledge of.

ETA: I had forgotten what the original point of how marketing came up. The original point was what you see happening on cam for the most popular models is only a small fraction of the work being done for them to get to where they are.

Hey, are you aware? Your current attitude is exactly like that of a self-righteous, authoritative, and high-handed mod/knight.

Authoritative would be because I am an authority on the subject that's what comes from having extensive knowledge and years of experience of something

Mods/knights are always like that. I don't mind though. Well, I need to get back to real world. I also need to throw a tip to my favorite model. Thanks for sticking with the conversation for so long.

The difference is mods and nights are not an authority on the subject....

If you’re a true friend, you’ll give her a token per word for whatever conversation you have in her room.

In the absence of peace, she’ll at least find wealth.

Yeah, like some kind of bullshit tax. Having to listed to this Linkedin drivel every day in her PM must be enough to make her consider quitting the industry. If he's like this in the public chat then he's not doing his favourite model any good.

I think your heart is in the right place but there isn’t much a knight can say to encourage me to tip. If they’re are too visible it’s actually a turn-off to the room to me tbh

I think the best thing you can do (if the model wants you to) is call out people asking for crap but not tipping - that does sometimes work to dissuade freeloading
