Hello,

I’m reaching out because my account on Chaturbate was recently banned under a “zero tolerance” policy, and I’m trying to understand what happened and if there is any possibility of appeal.

I have been streaming for around 10 years, including 8 years on Chaturbate, always trying to follow the rules and maintain a professional presence. If I did something that violated the platform’s policies, it was never intentional. It’s possible that I was misled or encouraged by a user into a situation I didn’t fully understand at the time.

Chaturbate has been extremely important for my livelihood, and this ban has had a significant impact on me financially. I would really appreciate any guidance on whether there is a way to review my case, clarify what went wrong, or request a reconsideration.

If anyone has gone through a similar situation or knows the proper steps to appeal, I would be very grateful for your advice.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Hi, the wording you choose makes me feel like you know something but you don't want to tell--not saying that's the case but is the vibe I get from it. Especially this part "It’s possible that I was misled or encouraged by a user into a situation I didn’t fully understand at the time." Is it possible or that's what actually happened? I mean, I guess anybody can have a lapse and get tricked if they're distracted or something, but at least you would realize at some point you committed a bannable offense. So having 10 years of experience I don't buy you being so naive that you couldn't tell that.

I want to clarify that I'm not accusing you cause it matters not what you decide to tell here or not. Maybe you felt you need to say it to cover all your bases--who knows. The thing is noting that the same as I found it weird, the human who reviews your case could find it weird too.

Bottom line being that it's always better to be clear, honest, concise and short when you communicate with support. Remember they will be reviewing all your interactions on the platform, so whatever things you decide to tell them (or not) should hold up to the evidence--easiest way being just telling the truth. So if you suspect you know the reason of the ban, that's what you tell them along with any clarifications you want to make. If you don't know the reason, then that's what you tell them. e.g. if nobody tricked you into anything then you don't say that as it will only add noise to the communications and, potentially, give them another thing to look for.

Regarding the process, it is pretty much the same than the last time you went through it. You write to support and then wait for their answer. It may be slower now than then--something under 2 weeks usually. I'd strongly advise you to think very well on what you're gonna say as that message is usually the only thing they'll read from you before deciding about your situation.

Anyway, if the violation is severe enough, you'll be banned permanently despite what you say. If it's not that severe, admitting that you know (or you suspect) that you f'd up may be the difference to lift the ban if they know that now you know the risk and can identify the situation. Or it could be a matter of context, in which case it would be most important that they knew your side of the story.
