Hi all,

After being banned and getting my account back, I'm taking strict measures not to get banned again. It was recommended to me by a user here to use the banned words list, so I've made a comprehensive one that anyone can use and edit however they like:

Unless you're planning to use an app, CB only allows 100 words on the banned list. Looks like you're trying to cover everything, but I see that some of the words you've chosen could cause problems communicating with your users. Words like meet, sleep, sound, call, phone, record, little, etc., to name a few, are in common use and some, I'd say, actually necessary to speak. In the end, those words are only the first shield against the most direct and explicit shit. If anyone wants to tell you something, they'll find a way :/

Try some of the V1 apps/bots. They're not as pretty as the V2 apps but I remember there being some pretty effective tools buried in there. Unfortunately I can't remember any of the titles.

In my opinion it is overkill, you do not have to block every single questionable word. If I, a user, tries to use any of the words you listed the whole message is blocked.

I would suggest that you delete some of the words that are in daiy common use between people, like phone, call, social or media, if a user with bad intentions use any of those he/she is most likely to use them together with some of the really problematic words.

Secondly you might want to focus more on the alternative ways users will try to circumvent blocked words, because the users that are looking for borderline content know about blocked words, so they will try for instance 'r4cepl4y' instead of 'raceplay'.

Also if you ustilise the option for banning substrings you can eliminate a lot of your words:

I actually do talk about trains because I know someone who was an electrician for a railroad. But I don't think I've ever said choo choo train until whatever that time stamp on my post was. lmao
