Hey y'all...

I know the general feeling around here is "Don't cam unless you want to deal with all the bad shit that comes with it," and that's cool and all! But as a radical feminist who believes strongly in the ability for men to not be creepy douchebags, I don't really feel the need to "accept" the kind of abusive behavior subjected to models.
I got over the camgirlgallery/camgirllover thing, I think I'm good :) I care more about person-to-person interaction that makes me wonder if there's any way to practice consent as a cam model.

I like everything I do on cam to be something I enjoy, that is consensual, with somebody I want to play with! As a hypersexual I find this quite easy ;)

I've already left MFC because I found the lack of banning guests disturbing (tear), and am looking at these other sites - bongacams, cam4, whatever and I really can only cam on a few sites with my bandwidth so I'm hoping someone with more experience can help me out and tell me what sites have the best banning interface! lol. If I find I can not ban people, guests, unpaid users, people who I are banned and just come back as a guest, I will not be a happy or healthy cam girl :(

So...what are some good sites for this and some sites I should maybe avoid?
Streammate and Flirt4Free's interface to ban literally everyone is A+. I also need to get started on sites like SkyPrivate.

Thank you <3

I guess I wouldn't mind a little advice either. I know the "F" word (feminism shhh) is a sensitive subject and I'm not trying to make any enemies. But if you consider yourself a radical feminist well versed in consent I could probably use some perspective and help. Maybe I *shouldn't* cam or focus on one-on-one sites like extralunchmoney to get my rocks (and bank account) off if guests and people who obsess are bothering me so much.

Honestly, it sounds like free chat sites (such as MFC & CB) are not right for you. You will drive yourself crazy spending so much time banning guests who can simply re-enter your room. I would suggest private based sites - SM and F4F, as you mentioned, is a good starting place. The traffic is much lower and you can easily ban anyone/everyone without it sucking up your time, taking away from your show.

Ultimately there will always be trolls and annoying users. You won't change them and they will run absolutely wild if you let them know they have the power to get under your skin. (i.e. start talking politics.) The only thing you can do is not let them affect you. Ignore, ban, and move on. Private sites are your best bet, as Mika said, or you may look into phonesex. Camland has a lot of feminist positives, in my eyes, but you will never be able to have absolute control over your environment. Same as pretty much any other job.

abusive behavior subjected to models.
I don't deal with abusive behavior because I'm not a victim. I have a ban button, a sharp tongue, and self confidence oozing out of my pores. I eat those little cunts for breakfast and my customers live for it.

You might want to try ImLive too. Do 90 hours in freechat which can be done in like month then you have to option of turning freechat off completely and set to private mode.
Also set up for skype shows. Cammodel Directory, LiveCammodelShows, Skyprivate.

Note: On Streamate, if a member leaves before you can ban them. Just email support asking them to ban them. Tell them their name, time they entered your room, and print screen your chat.

If you're concerned about who is viewing you, a consideration:

On Streamate, people can still watch you in free chat without being logged in. I think there's a limit to how long they can be there, but they can. They can't view your paid shows, no, but they can still see you between shows. I'm always opening up my own room in a different browser to check my stream if it seems like I might be lagging, and I'm able to view myself without logging in to my member account. I can't tell from the model end if I'm doing that. You can bypass this by geoblocking, in which case you won't show up on the page to anyone who's not logged in, but this can lose traffic and earning potential, because there are customers who will browse the site, logged out, while deciding who to take private, then log in specifically for the private. There's a lot of reasons why they do this, ranging from just wanting to get straight to business to not wanting models to bug them while they're deciding. Streamate also broadcasts your stream to numerous white labels that you have no control over, and affiliates can use you in ads, which are often misleading and advertise SM as a dating or hook up site. Geoblocking theoretically removes you from advertising, but a couple models who were always geoblocked have still wound up in advertising. You can ask support to remove you completely from advertising, but it has a massive impact on your placement and will put you way back on a back page.

It's been a while since I've worked on cams.com, but when I did, I would have to log into a member account to check my stream. Another perk is that you can broadcast in "Nude Chat", where members are paying per minute to enter your chat no matter what. You can do whatever you want in nude chat, as long as you're nude when members are in the chat. When they're not, you can be clothed, in a robe, whatever you feel like. A big downside is that a lot of models have had issues with weird warnings or bans (I was warned about "sleeping on cam" once because I dared to YAWN while streaming), and even not getting paid. Going through a studio bypasses the payment issue, but then you're making less of an even smaller cut. That being said, I'm with them through a studio because I can earn a couple dollars on each site I'm on under them and make payout collectively.

Regardless, on any site, you're going to have trolls. You don't "have to put up with it", no, but being prepared to drop the ban hammer at any time is ideal. The entire Internet is a troll playground, because the anonymity it provides allows those types of people to fester.

Are you able to ban guests on MFC? No, but you can mute them, which prevents them from being able to interact with anyone. I honestly don't see why anyone WOULD let them talk, they're 99.9% freeloading trolls and I would much rather focus my energy on paying customers. Yes, there are a few success stories of models converting guests and long-time basics to premium members, but I simply don't have time for that.

The very nature of camsites is exposure whether it's you sitting in freechat room on SM fully clothed or doing a hardcore dildo fucking show on MFC. In a way, hitting 'broadcast' is consenting to being viewed on the internet. No matter what site you're on you'll always get some non-paying traffic and yes abusive members. I've been a public show girl and now I'm a private show girl on SM and banning people on either hasn't been difficult.

You absolutely don't have to accept any abuse from any member no matter what site you're on. I don't think there is any model here (feminist or not) who would say you had to put up with an abusive member--just that the reality is that you will encounter them. It's not needed for the job at all on any level to tolerate them. You call the shots. I ban an average of 1-5 guys every stream I do. Some people have different tolerance levels for it. SOme rooms you'll see trolls running amok and the model doesn't ban them [i.e EgyptBeauty on MFC], others you'll have models who ban any sort of demand.

It's not at all about being accepting to douche bags and I've never really seen that sentiment on the forum but the reality is that people won't always be nice but you DO have the power to ban or mute whoever you please in most camsites. Even if the annoying guests aren't logged in--who knows how many non-logged in guys are watching your feed and you can't touch them.

I mute any free user interaction on every site I'm on. It would drive me nuts having to interact with people who weren't paying. But at the same time, I feel like the top camsites (MFC/CB/SM) would not be as successful if non-paying members didn't have some access to your cam to see what you look like, what you offer etc. Every paying member starts off as a guest sometime on a camsite whether they sign up right away or in a week. Trying to elimate all of them is like playing whack-a-mole (and you can't touch those users who are watching and not logged in therefore are undetectable by you). That isn't saying "suck it up and get used to it" so much as it's the honest reality of the internet and camming world.

If that kind of thing is too stressful, you can always work indie like on skype listing sites like skyprivate or cammodeldirectory (take out the freechat all together) or do camming/sell skype shows on content sites like ELM/MGF/MV etc or make clips and not have to deal with any members at all :D

*also wanted to add as echoes above while it's easy to ban people on SM your room is posted like crazy on whitelabel afffiliate sites. I see other camgirls I know all the time if I'm looking on pornhub for recordings in the popups and those viewers are totally undetectable as well

I really super appreciate everyone's responses and have a lot to think about and look into!!
Thank you so much for taking your time out to educate me and help me feel a little more centered and less crazy. I know in our work, time is money! and could not be more grateful so many pros came out to share their experience and knowledge.

I will try to update here if anyone cares on what i decide to do. It's weird that I have been a cam model for 2-3 years and never cared much about these anonymous users until now, but I guess we all change over time. I hope to find I still can find my awesome customers outside chaturbate and MFC, we shall see!

FYI I still think Chaturbate and MFC are awesome sites - as far as cam sites go they give the best 50% payouts and are totally the right thing for people who are not so ban-happy and paranoid as me. I was happy on these sites for several years. I'd make a lot more money if I was less "mean!" I don't want to discourage anyone from sites with good customer service who are offering higher-rate payouts.
In the 2-3 years as a cam girl, I've never had any horror stories of family or friends "finding" me - I mean really, who's going to admit they were on a webcam porn site? I definitely think this is a great income that has afforded me a lot of happiness and freedom.

Thank you again!!

Lovergirl,
I feel that you will for more comfortable on private sites such as Niteflirt or CamContacts. Guys are more respectful on these sites due to them having to pay to see you. Just a side note about phone sex as industry. It is great but you will find that dispatch and combo companies such as Uslove have customers which less "enlightened" views than on camsites. So, you would need to stay in the platforms (Niteflirt and Talktome) or going totally indy for phone sex. That way, you can control your clientele a bit more than on dispatch.
