My first thought was good for the cat, teach her to be mean to the cat. But then I read the article, the cat had been trying to attack her dog. She was just trying to shoo it away. Seems they had valid reason to put it down to check for rabies.

There's nothing 'awesome' or 'good' about this. And I don't see how she deserved it.

You've got a cat with an aggression problem. he'd bitten two people and gone after her dog. She was kicking SNOW at him. Not hurting him. Just trying to get him away from the dog.

Don't know where the cat's aggression came from, but he was a stray so I'm sure he's been through some stuff that makes him likely to lash out.

The end result? Woman severely hurt, and the cat has to be put to sleep to have his decapitated head tested for rabies.

If anything, a great opportunity to remind everyone that every animal they own should get a rabies shot, and that when your animals begin showing aggression you MUST seek help dealing with it immediately.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but seriously, relax. Get some counseling or something. It's just not worth getting worked up over stuff people post on the internet.

My comment was in regards to the cats ability to defend itself from a large aggressor. That was totally awesome to me.

I didn't realize that the cat had to be put down.

It is pretty awesome how a little 15 pound critter can launch an attack like that taking down a full grown woman in a matter of seconds... and a little comical depending on your sense of humor. :mrgreen:
