Hello the AmberCutie community,

I've recently started camming with my girlfriend on chaturbate. We've both only done this once and made around 1000 tokens. Basically my question revolves around customer service and the best way to interact with customers.

We found it quite awkward camming with the sound on, but tried to engage the crowd and greet every user - however a lot of the time we had chatters with tokens complaining we were spending too much time with "leeches".

Also we're having a hard time deciding exactly how much tokens should denote an act - flash, naked, knickers off, toy, sex (blahblahblah). Therefore we were wondering if you could gift us any of your wisdom on how to deal with this + how to remain composed under the spotlight & w/ mic.

Any guidelines on how to approach gaining tokens, the best camera angle, the most advantageous approach (etc) would really benefit us.

Thanks. x :P

Howdy!

If people are paying for your time and entertainment, they should be the first and foremost on your list of interractions. It's ok to say 'hi' and stuff to random people here and there, but if they're not willing to support the show then why should you be willing/obligated to hold a conversation with them? This line of logic will dramatically reduce how much attention you need to spend as whole. In general a 'hi guys' or 'hey all the newbies, this is what we're doing and what we hope to accomplish' is as good as it gets. I tend to pick and choose who I speak to and if I get a feeling that they're just 'freeloading', I move on. The guys who do pay will appreciate you more because hey, they're carrying the show!
I think I'd be annoyed if I was shelling out money for your attention/interaction and people who gave nothing either get more or your attention is so diffused amongst the masses that I'm lumped with the 'non payers' anyway. Why pay, then?

In time you'll find your happy medium. Again, this doesn't mean ignore everyone who doesn't flash a token (unless that is what you want to do, it's your room, you decide how you run it). A lot of non-tippers are also 'customers' waiting to happen.

Also we're having a hard time deciding exactly how much tokens should denote an act - flash, naked, knickers off, toy, sex (blahblahblah). Therefore we were wondering if you could gift us any of your wisdom on how to deal with this + how to remain composed under the spotlight & w/ mic.

A tough question! Everyone has different prices. My advice would be the pop around Chaturbate and MFC to get an idea. Couples can usually ask for higher prices. I think you should charge what you think you are worth and remember, it's always easier to go down than it is to go up! I'm not much help with this one because I'm on SM and have never done a couple show.

Any guidelines on how to approach gaining tokens, the best camera angle, the most advantageous approach (etc) would really benefit us.

Absolutely: There is no best. You can look at porn, rooms, etc. all day and still have (many) people gripe and whine about it. I would say the best way to go about things is to do what you want. If you're natural and happy, people will like you for that and you'll have less stress trying to keep up to false standards (and being stressed while trying to be sexy is a recipe for total fail). Try different angles, be inventive, and just be YOU. I'm dead serious. I struggled with this for sooooo long. I'm me now and I've never been happier.

Edit: I don't know if couples can do model access, so I'm posting general helpful tidbits in case anyone is going 'wtf' on me

Oh, okay. I'm sorry that I gave her the wrong info.

I do shows on chaturbate too. And I bring my guy on from time to time. I would recommend setting it so that only those who have every tipped can chat if you're having trouble paying attention to the ones you really need to, especially at sexy time when the demands start flying and it can be hard to keep up.

Here's a summary of the general advice given to new models:
1) Get a good camera. Logitech 9000 should be your starting point. Its runs about 80 bucks here in Canada
2) learn about lighting. Start here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-point_lighting
3) Ignore or mute people who dont have tokens. Most MFC models do this and it filters out a lot of spam and begging
4) If people act like douches, ban and move on. Dont try to reason with/fix them/interact at all
5) I recommend against freebies, as it sets a precedent. Flash for tips works pretty well, dont believe people who say "Ill tip you X if you do Y FIRST" they are never telling the truth
6) Decide what each thing you are going to do is worth, and stick with that. Most models on MFC find countdowns or flash for tips really useful. Your time and attention are worth something, or you wouldnt be on a cam site.
The people who spend money on you deserve your attention before anyone else. Dont neglect them.

Crap I lost part I someone should post it

I am a solo model on MFC, and I haven't spent much time on Chaturbate because I found the members on that site expected a lot more for a lot less so take me with a grain of salt. In my opinion, a couple having live sex on cam deserves a lot more than 50 bucks in one night for sure!

In regards to camera angle and lighting:

DONT just lurk right close to the camera silently glaring and your computer screen in the dark. Move around, talk, show some personality. Give people a reason to want to spend their hard earned money on you. If its not going well sign off, dont bitch about it or act upset. One if my favourite members on MFC told me this: Guys spend more tokens when they are relaxed and having a good time. That has turned out to be really true for me. Best of luck

This!
I totally forgot to mention it earlier but I do a countdown to 2000 for live sex when I have my guy on cam, with some different things at different points along the way like BJ at 1700 or something.
Don't sell youselves short. Find an amount thats reasonable to you and works for the traffic in your room.
Is your name the same on there as it is here? I'd like to catch your show sometime if that's ok with you.
Good luck!

(THIS IS WHAT'S WORKED FOR MY COUPLE'S SHOWS, IT MAY NOT WORK FOR EVERYONE ELSE)
My roommate cams with me full time as a couple on streamate so we deal with these problems on a regular basis. Find your camming area and figure out who's going to be the lure. We use our couch because then everyone can see both of us clearly and the focus is on me (we cater to hetero shows). I'm the one who flirts and convinces people to go private or tip. We NEVER do public shows or show anything in public chat because that has shown to draw in freeloaders faster than a solo show. People can get solo shows anywhere so it's important to show them that you're product is 'better' and not as easy to find.

As for using the mic, we only say "hi" in public chat. We keep most of our talking to private shows or after something is paid for. Since there are 2 of us on cam it would get confusing and alienate the room if we both talked out loud so I usually type out our responses to questions or chatter. It seems easier for the room to follow and it gets more excitement when we start talking and getting noisy during shows.

This probably seems pretty strict but it's what's worked for us. When I try to do the same tricks I use for solo shows we don't get nearly as many viewers. We keep our supply down so that our demand stays really high. ;)

Some of our prices:
Flashes-any price (if we feel like smartasses he'll flash instead of me and that draws in a bigger crowd from the silliness)
Topless-rarely under $20 and only when we have an active room
Kissing-$5
Spanks/teases/gropes-$5+ depending on what they want
Lapdances/strip tease-$15-20 and I get dressed immediately after
Naked (only one of us)-$45
Naked (both of us)-$65+
