It is official, it leaves vaporware status .. it's gone gold (to fabs for production), Yes quite hard to believe actually it's now official.

2K Games and Gearbox Software are proud to announce that Duke Nukem Forever®, one of the most anticipated entertainment properties of all time, has “gone gold” and will be available at retailers on June 10, 2011 internationally and on June 14, 2011 in North America. The road to gold was paved over the course of 15 years and its legendary path climaxes on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. Gamers who pre-order the title from select outlets will ensure that they are among the first to experience this legendary piece of gaming history when the demo* launches on June 3, 2011 for all platforms, exclusively for Duke Nukem First Access Club Members.

Yes yes and double YES!!!!! :-D

Do want....so much.

Finally one piece of vaporware is out the door. All that's left is Half Life 2: Episode 3 and everything will be right in Vidya Gaems.

I got it last night, having fun with it so far. I'm not too sure how far I am in the campaign, at the point where I'm just outside the casino.

Heh so how is it? It's getting really terrible reviews, highest I've seen was 5.5/10, lowest was like 2...and games reviewers are often pretty forgiving.

I enjoyed it. I had it beat within 3 days on Normal. I might play some harder modes. Game was funny and fun as hell.

Been a lot of contraversity over the reviews with take2 sacking there PR company.

I like it but it feels old, its like 12 years old and if you want to enjoy you have to go back 12 years, games have changed a lot in the last 12 years, they have matured and become more adult oriented.

Well, to be fair it feels pretty modern in that you walk down a specific path and after a while you have a cut scene and there are no keycards. Regenerating health and only two guns at a time. Those are all modern shooter qualities there. One thing to remember though is that yes, the game is basically 12 years old. It's been getting polished up with new graphics and such over those 12 years, but the game itself is 12 years old. Gearbox pretty much just finished it up and put it out the door. They didn't make the game, just published it.

I have been waiting for this game for a long, long time...

I never believe in review because people have different taste. I try out the game from a friend. I only laugh when I punch the guy and he fell out hahaha and the person thanks me. They were trying to make it as the old days of Duke nukem and they over did it little. I didn’t like most of the parts of the game.

Umm... it is the old days of Duke Nukem. This game started development right after Duke Nukem 3D. It was supposed to be an immediate follow up. I think the game was exactly what it should have been. It was Duke Nukem, no holds barred.

If that was the case than I would buy this game period. But I didn’t because didn’t feel like Duke Nukem game. If I play a Duke Nukem game than I go to my boxes and take out my Duke Nukem I and II Pc games no holds barred. Even my friend who a fan of it put it on craigslist after I gave it back to him Duke Nukem forever
