Former policeman Andy Wray has his memory wiped every two days. He cannot remember friends, relatives or events in any detail but, with the help of endless note books and reminder cards he manages to get on with life and even runs marathons. His life was turned upside down in 2007 when he suffered a severe mental breakdown causing a very rare condition called Dissociative Amnesia. His memory had been completely wiped. Andy had witnessed horrific deaths and suicides while in the police force and the constant anxiety caused his memory to abort.

A sci-fi movie called The Butterfly Effect was loosely based on that type of amnesia.
I'm not sure if I'm just not getting your wry humor (perhaps some attempt to wish you had forgotten that movie), but maybe you mean the not-at-all sci-fi movie Memento?

I'm assuming he meant Memento, which was a good film

Having been the victim of several childhood traumas aggravated by stress-induced memory losses, he attempts to set things right for himself and his friends.

Plot

In the year 2002, Evan Treborn (Ashton Kutcher) frequently suffers from blackouts, often at moments of high stress. As a young child (played by Logan Lerman) and adolescent (played by John Patrick Amedori), Evan suffered many severe sexual abuse and psychological traumas. These traumas include being forced to take part in child pornography, being strangled by his mentally-ill father, causing an accident with dynamite with his friends, and seeing his dog being burned by his friend.

The fact that people can suffer such things due to trauma just shows how important mental health is. It's so unfortunate that people deal with anxiety on a constant basis, I say this, because I was. This could have happened to me without getting help. Society makes you think you can think pretty thoughts, or pray away your stress, because it's not in your body. In reality, your brain is being affected to deal with all the bullshit.

mfc & acf

Two reminder cards I would make, imagine, every 2 days:

Walking thru your mfc friends list and thinking "Yeah boy, this is what I like !!!"

Walking thru your acf postings and thinking "omg, I'm pervert and a idiot"

Wasn't there an Adam Sandler comedy based on this condition too?
