Porn Actor Dies on Camera After Being Tased During Reality Show

Police arrested Andrew Grande (porn name Dustin Michaels) with a bag of weed in his possession, which he apparently tried to swallow. When he resisted arrest, they tased him, and he choked on the bag. A reality cameraman filmed it.

I closed the vid after he starting reaching down his throat. Fuckin Tasers. What cant three cops do to one person that a taser can? But then again he did swallow a plastic baggie. :x

Didn't his mom teach him not to swallow small objects? haha

Well, yes it's sad the loss of life.

It's not the TASER's fault, since it's an inanimate object that requires a user to operate it. (Yes TASER is actually an acronym, like LASER is.)

The suspect put a bag of weed in his mouth to try to swallow it. He was an adult that knew the risks of swallowing anything, an action a lot of us take for granted. The suspect made the decision to resist arrest. The suspect made the decision to put the plastic bag of contents (those contents are immaterial really) in his mouth to swallow.

Now tell me this, was it the resistance before the TASER was deployed or a result of the TASER deployment that actually 100% caused the death of the suspect? We will never know as this cannot be determined by video camera nor autopsy.

One can never, ever blame a tool or other inanimate object for the results of an action with sound argument. It's the person that controls the situation.

The TASER is designed to inhibit the muscles of the person or animal TASERed. This reduces the injury to both the officers involved as well as the suspect. Officers could go right back to just kicking the shit out of a suspect like the old days, which cause more injury to the suspect, more scrutiny for the department, which usually results in a settlement paid by the taxpayers which makes your taxes higher next fiscal year.

The proper thing to do would have been for the suspect to not resist the lawful arrest by the officers, and work out the details later. A possession charge now turned into a loss of life due to the suspect's actions.

RIP Andrew Grande.

Stupid on both parties I say. 3v1 should of been enough, the taser wasn't needed. Also stupid on the guys part trying to swallow the bag.

Agreed. Also: Legalize and regulate Marijuana?

Legalized and extremely limited regulation. I wouldn't fight age restriction to adults, penalties for transferring to a minor, no K-12 school buildings (parking lot/vehicle is fine). Employers would be free to hire or not hire based on use.

I am against special licensing of growers, distributors, or dealers in any capacity. I am against taxing of the growing, processing, delivery, or sale of such, beyond the standard state sales tax (ie same tax as if buying a pen). Taxing is a necessity in certain circumstances such as defense and infrastructure, but when a government taxes a service or product, not only are they suppressing liberties but you are funding them the capability of taking them away (for which they have to right to do so). Taxing is never the answer as it will only be spent, ie the more you make the more you spend. Further discussion of taxes and it's application to government and the role of government are reserved for a different thread, as I can get long winded on my soap box.

Not that I would know anything about this but who swallows the bag WITH the weed in it when you get caught by the police? Why not just empty out the weed into your mouth and gulp. >_> Seems like common sense to me, but I've never been arrested so I could be wrong.
Hell of a way to die though...o_O

Was he hoping he could pass the baggie through his digestive system and poop it out, and STILL SMOKE IT??!! :D

That would make complete sense if I was high so I take back what I said.

I'd do it. Wouldn't smell any worse. But that's just me and I'm fucking out there.

I was reading about TASER's and remembered stumbling across this thread awhile back. so I thought I would resurrect it. The whole thing cracked me up. (does that make me a bad person?) Anyway.... I found this and found it interesting:

The name "taser" was originally "TSER", for "Tom Swift Electric Rifle". The invention was named after the central device in Tom Swift and His Electric Rifle (1911); according to inventor Jack Cover, "an 'A' was added because we got tired of answering the phone 'TSER.'"

I admit, I lul'ed also.

Actually, I howled and wheezed and rolled on the floor.

Man, never underestimate the entertainment value of stupid people.... it'll surprise you every time.

Call me horrible but really..... porn star, choking to death on a baggie of weed that would get him at best in most states, a ticket and/or a few days in the can.... you can't make funny stuff like that up.

How high and paranoid do you have to be to attempt that?

Where's the video.... we wanna see.

I found it on liveleak...

toss in the reality show angle.... omfg... lol

WOW...can't say I LOLd but I sure don't feel bad for him...

Lol don't ever expect cops to not use a weapon they think they're allowed to.... to TASE or not to TASE? :scared-shocked:

But why not feel bad for him? Guy tried to swallow a baggie of pot - completely harmless - and ended up paying with his life.

Lol if the camera crew hadn't been there he'd have been found holding a gun

As you sow so shall you reap...
or What a fucking retard

Its like those stories you hear on the news from some dickwad seeking attention:
"I was coming home from jail, was there on a wife beating stint, and I got pulled over by the police for NO REASON!. So I told myself fine, I put down the weed and the 40 and pulled to the side. When the pig came to the window he saw my gun in the seat and next thing you know I was arrested!?!?! Its just not right how they treat people, my four kids all in prison all agree with me!!"

meh...

Yeah but if you watch the video, you have to wonder if "resisting arrest" wasn't actually "omg I can't breathe, cop's holding my arms, I need to get this out of my throat".

Cops didn't know that sure, but they also use absolute overkill. Like okay, domestic disturbance, possible drug possession, there are THREE cops, is it really necessary to have the guy face down on the ground? Or tase him? He was unarmed...they would have already checked that.

Unless there was unreleased footage before the choking that showed the perp getting violent and stuff (and if there was, you'd think they'd show it to make the cops look good) they completely overreacted and it (unintentionally) lead to the idiot's death.

I reckon cops using force against suspects who aren't posing a threat and are committing non-violent crimes only incites people to use violence against cops :dontknow:

I have personally had a friend die in a similar situation. He was high on some blend of drugs and was tossing 4 or 5 cops around like rag dolls. He had a baggie of meth in the side of his cheek and when they were fighting, he inhaled it, and dropped to the ground unconscious. No one knew till they swept his mouth for CPR and saw the end of the baggie way in there. They had to use long needle nose pliers to pull it out. It was too late tho. Shit happens to retards who put things that are not intended in their mouths to do something illegal, like fight the cops and hide the drugs. They could have manned up and said, yea I got dope. My bad. Most of the time, its just a ticket or light jail time... Darwinism is a bitch

Yeah well...if you're going to do incredible hulk on cops you might as well put the drugs in your pocket.
