I have a friend who models on MFC. She gets very upset when she discovers videos of herself screencapped from groups and freechat even spyed on privates posted on various forums or porn video sites.

I mentioned that I would be willing to act as a representative or I've seen the term "agent" to try and get these videos taken down. Does anyone know what I would need to issue a DCMA tackdown notice on behalf of this model? I have searched this forum and saw a link: http://rising.blackstar.com/how-to-send ... otice.html with a sample letter. I am not sure what I would need to provide to them to prove that I have the authority to issue this notice.

It has also been suggested on this forum that sending an email to the MFC Admin may get them to help. Does this work?

The best case scenario is I can do this with just something from her giving me the authority to act on her behalf. I can just hunt them down and send a notice and not have to keep alerting her every time I see one. It looks like it will be like playing whack-a-mole...but I can put my OCD tendencies to good use. :D

Another thing we discussed was I find them, send them to her and she forwards it on to them.

If anyone has had experience with the best way to do this I would love to know.

Thanks,

Don't send any personal information or DMCA's yourself. Get every link to everything you find and tell her to forward it to MFC. They'll get it taken down.

MFC can send takedown notices to these sites yea....but whether the sites take them down or not is up to them. Some of those assholes just don't care at all to listen to anybody. Anyway, I don't think a model can technically claim copyright to any of that material if it was screencapped or recorded while she was camming on MFC...once you get on cam, it becomes the property of MFC...it's in the fine print.

Alison is right. It is MFC's responsibility to send out any and all DMCA notices for capped while on MFC videos found online, not the model's. MFC or any other cam site owns the copyright on the streams, not the model.

However, without some sort of watermark showing it is definitely from MFC, it can be hard to prove the stream was captured from there.

Thanks for the reply everyone. Jupiter, Yeah thanks, I did that and did not find a clear answer...How do you think I ended up here?

Well, I guess the best thing to do is hunt them down and turn them over to her to send on to MFC and hope for the best.

She did not know how to put up the "property of MFC" banner. Can anyone help with that?

I am amazed how many videos are out there of so many models once I started looking..I do notice that some get taken down immediately and some never seem to be taken down.

This is really a great forum. Thanks again for taking the time to help.

She can run her webcam through SplitCam or ManyCam and use those programs to edit the feed and add a watermark.

Manycam, Splitcam, and some others can do it, as Evvie said. However, be warned, they are processor hogs.

MFC definitely tries to get videos of their top earners down fast. Mary aka CrzySyzy has a bunch of videos of her from when she was in a studio and far more... explicit in what she did back then. But they are almost always taken down within days, if not hours, of being put up. Same for Shy and some others. Less popular models, though, might not ever get their videos removed.

That's not true, there are plenty of less popular models that send links in to MFC and they're removed just the same as any other model.

You could have just googled 'what do I need to do for a dcma'

I think if you google it with the letters transposed you won't get the desired result because when I google dmca and what to do for it it tells me to send blah blah blah. However, that's not good advice for someone working under an alias as they would have to give their legal name. It's a good thing he found this site so that no extra personal information had to be given out.

Are you just making guesses here? I know MFC claims copyright to the feeds but I don't think all camsites do. Also, what is a model to do when MFC ignores their requests to take care of the takedowns? This happens all the time by the way. This is when models take matters into their own hands or their close premium member friends do it for them.

just another affirmation that Allison is correct...about mfc taking them down, without consideration for a models "popularity"
tho on several occasions, I've had to remind them a couple of times before they got around to it.

That might be because YOU technically are not in a position to be sending them links and requesting take downs in the first place. Unless they hear from a model that the video was recorded from her MFC feed, you may just be sending recordings of other cam sites or videos the model herself recorded. The two latter are not MFC property.
If you find a video, send the model a link and let her handle it.

yeah....i've wondered about that....honestly, tho, it feels like it's more about mfc staff just being busy sometimes...or perhaps some of the more estoteric porn sites are just slower to do their job when notified....because it's one guy in his basement or something

because mfc is usually very good about taking their content removed from mainstream sites within 24 hours, even if the request is just from a concerned 3rd party.

I'm still not sure why/how it would ever fall on a member to get screencaps/videos of a model removed.

"Hi. I'd like this video removed please"
"Oh, are you the model in the video?"
"No"
"Are you a representative of the site that owns the video?"
"No"
"Who are you then?"
"I just hang out in that model's room a lot"
"Oh..."

:?

There is a pretty specific process in which models contact model support and it's not the same as when a member contacts member support. You are more likely to get ignored if they are busy because it's not an email to model support from the email we registered with.

Well, all's well that ends well, I guess. I am a little surprised that they'd listen to a third party though.

Thanks Allison, I only transposed the letters on this post

That was what bothered me when I was looking at the various site's takedown rules. They all want a name and phone number. That is why I was thinking of trying to do it for her. I don't care if they know MY name but it does not seem like a good idea at all to give her real name and tie it to the videos.

I will pass this along..

Yes, this definitely makes sense. This seems like the thing to do for now. I really hope MFC will help out.

That is great! Thanks a lot....and thank you to everyone else who helped.

Just wanted to spread the word on this:
MFC will not send take downs for folders or threads. They need direct dl links (lazy...grumble)
I use a chrome extension called LinkClump to copy multiple links on a page at once. You hold the right mouse button down (you can change the button or key in the settings) and just drag around the links. I just change the settings from "open in new tabs to "copy links to clipboard" then paste them into an email or notepad doc. Hope its useful!

I agree it is up to the model to make the effort to contact support, BUT more than a few times I have forwarded links to gals I know and they ask for me to do it to help them. 3 have even told me to go thru model support ... worked every time. Why is that so hard to believe?
