He was asking because I am having a shitty last three months and was upset about it, so he decided to ask to see if it was just me.

He's a student and not rich, and honestly doesn't look at other models. He was just curious for me.

I'm ok with posting a percentage. Compared to before Thanksgiving, I'm making about 50-60% less than what I was making before. This also coincides with the fact that I start school this fall and have significantly less time to cam due to long classes and homework.

In January I made about...25% more than my usual average...But I also worked more days and more hours than usual. My worst months of the past year were in the summer. Winter has been really hit or miss for me...seems like I either did really well, or really awful.

Jan was 30% less on cam, but I rarely cammed and made up for it in modeling jobs.

January was TERRIBLE for me!!!! about 75% less then what I normally make. Camscore is now in the 700s. I didn't get to cam a lot because of a bizarre string of events (flooded closet, maintenance not fixing it when they said they would, the family getting food poisoning, etc...). Plus most of my regulars have told me that they didn't have much in the way of tokens because of recovering from the holiday season. I haven't been able to get on cam yet this month. everything is out of my closet and my room is cluttered. Still trying to figure out where the leak in my closet is coming from. hopefully this month will go better.

In January a lot of us have been struggling on MFC. Very reasonable room topic goals being unsuccessful...lack of raffle participation. So it felt really good when I got to my naked goal last night.

I'm happy with the other sites I'm on, and have really learned a lot from experience and reading forums like these.

My new Clips4Sale store is doing well so far, which I'm excited about.

I have cut some of my usual amounts for public show topics (oil/shower/etc) in half and still struggled to meet them in a timely fashion. My mere 900 tokens to get naked have taken twice as long to clear as my previous 1100-1400 naked countdowns took.

All in all, the hourly rate I was seeing in the 2nd half of 2011 has been cut tremendously which leads me to feel a bit defeated, and thus leads me to work less in the long run.

However, looking at last year's January and February, it seems that the hourly rate is similar to what I'm seeing now. Hopefully it will pick up for everyone in the next month or so and this is just a trend that happens early in the year.

I'm making roughly the same amount, but I do notice I'm seeing less participation and token spending across the board. My income generally comes from a ton of guys and passers through in the form of video/content purchases and privates, but those have been few and far between recently. Where as my income used to be more spread out, now 95% of it is coming from regulars. The amount of new tippers/non-regulars tipping has dropped off drastically.

I have 17 HD vids, I am purging a few from the list soon - like the SD ones, but I am having trouble selling them! I have tried anywhere from 200 tokens to 550 and no one seems to want them! i changed my strategy with vids middle of last year Starz, to selling them cheaper.
I know a lot of girls feel that it undervalues vids and drives prices down.. but i find i make more overall from a vid.

I slashed prices by about 50% - vids range from 100-200. If i did something over 20 mins in HD or a fuck video etc... I would go over 200. And SD or old ...(crappier) vids.. go for 75 tks. Also recorded shows go for cheaps.

I give them as prizes etc and provide video previews - this has helped a lot. Guys seem to like the 20 second clip I will give them with an idea of what the vid is about/quality etc.

I think that's a good strategy Lolli, it's not as though the supply of vids is limited (ie each copy costs nothing) so selling more is better than selling few at a higher price per unit.

Yeah, I had a model friend offer to sell me one of her videos for 1,000 tokens last year. I declined. She now sells a package of 6 videos for 200 tokens total and makes a mint.

Hate to be a bummer, but the dollar and global economy is collapsing everywhere. I read that cam modeling was a recession proof job, but I am beginning to have my doubts. I was on for 5 hours last night and made about almost 10$. I am having some serious reservations about this whole thing. I know I need regulars and all to build my clientele, but.... geeze.... I didn't realize it would be this difficult. The regulars that I have now, dont even tip... (so whats the point) And everyone wants to go skype while you are on MFC to save money, and then this takes time away from building your clientele.

I woke up feeling extremely frustrated and defeated this morning.
I guess I will look over the want adds today.

one trick i've learned is if chat is dying/quiet and I have a second, I will talk about the latest vid etc and actually flip the cam around and SHOW the preview. While posting the link in chat.

I then mention the countdown/show we're working to and how video sales go towards the countdown.

This strategy works to sell 1-2 vids ALMOST everytime I do it. I usually do it when I see new faces in the room.

I regularly mention that i have free previews on my site and put the link in chat.

I've been thinking of doing a game where every 150 token tip gets to spin a wheel which will have all my vids and galleries listed. You could come out with a 200-250 tk vid... or a 100 one. But you'll get a vid. On top there will be a jackpot prize of EVERY video/Gallery and maybe a 'insta show' (which knocks out the countdown.. i'd have to work out the odds...

Now how to make a spinny wheel...

I get EXCITED about my vids on cam. Tell them how hot they are. etc.

The other thing you can do is some kind of special 'day' of the month where you slash prices or offer bulk discounts...
actually bulk discounts are a great idea in general.


And as an incentive to high tippers, i've seen many girls successfully do a 'VIP' style list of members who tip a LARGE amount one time and get ALL their content and other perks/bragging rights.

I don't know anything about skype/pvts, never had had one and all...but I have seen on some girls profiles that they only accept scheduled skype/pvts. So you could try to schedule them right before or right after the end of your normal shift or when you are not scheduled to be on.

To me, for some girls this might be a good idea and the best of both worlds, as you may be able to pick up a few bucks when you normally don't appear online, while not "abandoning" your room at this critical juncture.

Another thing I've seen is for skype shows, some girls give a slight discount (vs. the cost of an MFC pvt show) for them. And if you are receiving tokens when you are off-line (from MFC), that probably is a good thing.

If you are not doing this already, you might want to have a notepad/word doc with pre-written "spam" to cut & paste in your chat and/or the MFC newsfeeds. Things that may be obvious to you, may not always be obvious to the dudes in your room, especially when they're looking at boobs, and all they can think of is "uh, BOOBS" and nothing else.

You might consider having some simple ad phrases handy, like:

link to your profile and "don't forget to rate and admire me!'
"Hey guys, follow me on twitter" and the link
link to view/purchase pic sets and/or videos, or your personal website (if you have that)
"Hey guys, add me to your friend list so you can always know when I'm online"
"XX tokens for a song request, XX tokens to dance to a special song"
There is more, but this is a start

If you have a specific schedule, you might want to spam/talk about tomorrow's schedule 30-45 minutes before you log off

Don't forget to change/refresh the room topic every once and awhile, as it disappears sometimes, or doesn't appear for new room members.

I'm sure your fellow models can be of more help to you on this...

Try selling packages of videos, Starz, they sell better than single videos. I give huge discounts.. because they're generally bought by guys who aren't my regulars and weren't really going to tip anyway. They were only going to spend 200 tokens on a single video, but usually finding out that they can get all my videos for one lump price (777, usually) gets them to buy some more tokens and drop the money on the package. I don't think a single expensive video sells well. Some guys only buy 200-500 tokens a week, they're not going to want to waste it on one single video.

I also make deals, if no one is tipping, I will offer a big discount for the next 10 minutes. Once one person gets in on the deal, usually multiple get in on the deal.

I've also done, highest tip in 10 minutes wins all my videos, losers get a single video for every 200 tokens. At first, its around 10 tokens and everyones kind of waiting, but by the end you have 3-4 guys tipping 300-400 tokens at once to win and you end up making the same amount, maybe a little less than you would selling the package at full price.But you weren't making any tokens anyway, so I'd rather sell something and take a slight loss than not sell anything at all.

I make most of my goals off video sales.

Well, 17 videos,. in my opinion, should be higher priced.. at least 500 token! Don't sell yourself short Starz :[. That way when someone does buy them, you're actually making a profit. I'm sure that would help with the lack of people buying videos.

But I get it, last year when I made 3 new videos, they told by the hundreds in the first week. I've made 3 new videos and now my regulars are buying it, but they're not selling like hotcakes like they used to. People just aren't spending like they used to. :[ I'm sorry to hear that it's not working out for her.
