The video thing is somewhat new to me. People used to ask "Do you have any vids?" and I'd be like "No, I don't...sorry." I don't make vids as often as others do, but I'm sure the video list will grow gradually. I wonder if the guys who ask "Can I see your toes?" would buy a foot vid if I made one...lol.

I have to admit I got a kick out of making a vid (for Clips4Sale) of me eating a hoagie. *Born and raised in PA, so I call subs "hoagies."* :lol: I think it's awesome that people are willing to pay to watch me feed my face and drink root beer (or orange soda). :thumbleft: God bless America...haha.

I offer videos at 90 tokens each, which includes adding you to my friends list. I add you, you pm me your e-mail address, I send you the file(s) stored in my MediaFire account, and BAM!...you've got mail!

You may have identified the problem.

Humans are curious creatures, and with a low price of 275 tokens for 17 HD videos, it may inadvertently suggest poorly made videos, or uninteresting ones. Pornography acts as a Veblen good until a certain point - people associate quality with price. Consider this; Would you nail a $5 hooker, or a $200 escort? Or, would you rather drink a $5 bottle of wine, or a $500 bottle of wine, if money wasn't an issue? I'd be placing my bets on the latter, because the expectation is - low price equals bad quality, therefore not worth buying.

Moral of the story; Stop underselling yourselves, girls. Let them know what they're missing so they know they want to come back for more.

Hate to be a bummer, but the dollar and global economy is collapsing everywhere. I read that cam modeling was a recession proof job, but I am beginning to have my doubts. I was on for 5 hours last night and made about almost 10$. I am having some serious reservations about this whole thing. I know I need regulars and all to build my clientele, but.... geeze.... I didn't realize it would be this difficult. The regulars that I have now, dont even tip... (so whats the point) And everyone wants to go skype while you are on MFC to save money, and then this takes time away from building your clientele.

I woke up feeling extremely frustrated and defeated this morning.
I guess I will look over the want adds today.

If everyone is requesting Skype shows, consider setting up a raffle where the winner gets a 30 minute Skype show. Charge 50-100 tokens a ticket and let them know that will be the only way they ever see you on Skype. I have seen models sells hundreds of tickets to these raffles.

Well, 17 videos,. in my opinion, should be higher priced.. at least 500 token! Don't sell yourself short Starz :[. That way when someone does buy them, you're actually making a profit. I'm sure that would help with the lack of people buying videos.

But I get it, last year when I made 3 new videos, they told by the hundreds in the first week. I've made 3 new videos and now my regulars are buying it, but they're not selling like hotcakes like they used to. People just aren't spending like they used to. :[ I'm sorry to hear that it's not working out for her.

I was doing like 900 tokens, because some of them are anywhere between 20-30 minutes long. They total like 4 hours worth of video! When it is slow I usually lower them, some people will buy them for 500, but when I lower them to like 200 no one wants them! I get on and I make the video bulk price around 400 then when it is slow, I lower it for a bit, then raise it again.

I just don't get it!

Maybe if you offered them in packages of say 3 for 275 or whatever, then the people would be obliged to go look through the loops to decide what they want and hopefully have a tough time making a decision. Then, if they like the videos maybe they'll come back to buy another 3 or whatever.

If you give away all at once just remember you're effectively destroying any chance of returning business.

You could try breaking your long videos into smaller clips and selling them individually
Sell DVDs. Some guys like to buy a whole physical DVD, and they make good raffle prizes.

I don't think so.
Videos have been selling waaaayyyy less for me too, and it's not a quality issue because everyone who does have them raves about them.
Back when I first started making videos I would get 10+ video purchases a day. My older videos got hundreds and hundreds of downloads in a fairly short time span, where as I have one that I put up 3 weeks ago that only has 15 downloads right now. A few months ago I would have sold that many a day.
All my regulars of course buy them, but there's just not that many tokens coming in from guys who are just passing through and that's really where most video purchases come from.

OH you are NOT the problem, not at all, please don't think that either. I know exactly how you feel with the videos, I have been having my heart aches about them too.
Making a long video and then having it available for sale for the price you want and have nobody want it pissed me off to no end. I was stubborn and didn't want to reduce the price for them. What I ended up doing to try to advertise for myself and encourage more tippers was to cut them up to mini videos. Kind of like a trailer or a preview to the full length. It absolutely killed me to cut them up. But we have tokens to make, if they aren't buying the full video, at least they can see a small part of what they are really missing. and chances are, some might come back and get the full video.

I know I reduced the prices on all my videos and did a, buy 2 for this price sale, but seeing the some of the member and model comments I think all my new videos going forward are going to be priced differently. I never want to undersell myself, but if there is nobody to sell to, crazy sales or specials for them have made a huge difference on reaching my goals.

I agreed with LucyLegz. Don't put yourself down, specially when you are the one doing your part by showing up at MFC and/or creating/making content and putting it out there.

I believe that being on cam, under the camscore system, can turn into something very stressful and logging on with that "The problem is with me." attitude will not help you at all so keep it positive!

Ps. I have noticed that ohmystarz and other models don't have a direct link to their twitter/tumblr/youtube accounts on their ACF signatures. Put it there! Put links to each other on each other, use the social tolls to your advantage.
