Hello!

I am kind-of-okay at HTML, so I made myself a bio by adapting a template I found on this site (great resource BTW).

I was so proud of it, and then I added it to my profile and... Yeah. Not so good.

THEN I did my best to find the problem, tried changing the sizes so they were ratio based as explained here... No luck.

So here I am, hoping someone will look at my code and be like "oh you missed out this tiny thing" and magically fix it all. If it's a bigger job than that please let me know, and maybe I'll just give up on my pretty bio and use a more boring one that I know works XD (or else actually pay someone to fix it)

PS I tried the floating buttons for socials and affiliates as well and could not get any of them to work other than the nametag. Any help with that also appreciated, I assume it's just that it's 7 years old and out of date.

The Code in Question

You forgot the background image "background-image:url(______________________BG)"
and it always looks nice to give the surrounding <ul> that also got the background image a border and rounded corners.

thanks, but I didn't forget the background image I just want the background to be a solid color, and if you look at my profile you can see that does have rounded corners (but for some reason doesn't contain most of the elements...)

PS below/attached is what I was trying for and what was outputted in the preview when I coded it in Whisk.

Well first and foremost, you need to get rid of the word torture. If I can't type that word into my bio in plain text without it being flagged, you can't put it in your bio image either. And the drug reference. The reference to murder in meeting up, in fact don't mention that at all -- meeting up. Just say no when people ask. They're not going to read your bio anyway but a model like me who hates rule breakers may report you for it any way.

My lord why do you people insist on breaking TOS? Then wonder why you get banned.

Totally agree with the KISS method on any bio on any site. Too many words, most people don't even read one sentence, let alone the conversational tone of yours.

Don't mention meetups.

Other advice follows:

Hormones? "I am not on them" would sum up a few answers there, shorten that whole part.

Be more forward about the price of PM instead of making it a flirty Q A.

I mean okay, thanks for the notes I guess but that's not what I asked for help with.

Furthermore I've actually already made most of your changes having put the text into StripChat and gotten flagged. I just didn't change it in the HTML because by that point I realized it was broken. I only put the broken one up on CB today so as to illustrate the problems to anyone with the technical expertise I was actually asking for.

This whole response was needlessly unkind and aggressive, but this in particular is just dripping with bile in such a pointlessly nasty way. Aren't you known as a Chaturbate expert on here? One of the people that folks are supposed to ask questions about the platform? Why do you insist on indulging your anger and cruelty onto a stranger rather than considering the perspectives of others, and honoring your role as a mentor for younger/newer creators?

Consider: Is it possible that even you, in your infinite wisdom, have not read the Terms of Service of every website you've ever used? I wager that your rebuttal would be "but this isn't just any website, it's a job and you should be thorough." But when other sites like StripChat use auto-blockers, forgive me for assuming that Chaturbate would do the same, or perhaps just have a little box with banned words and phrases under the part that explains what HTML you can use, if it were really so important to them to keep such words out of bios.

Likewise, if it were really so important to you that people follow the rules, you would not be so venomous in your delivery. I can't be the first to tell you that you'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar. But then I don't think you really care if there are fewer rules broken. In fact I think you'd be disappointed if you didn't get the opportunity to let out your rage at someone, in a consequence-free way. Similarly I don't really care if you stop being an asshole, but it's fun to feel righteous in the skewering of someone who antagonized you with no provocation. The difference is my awareness of the indulgence. Oh, and the not antagonizing you first thing.

(You'll notice that @AmberCutie, who surely has had as many if not more dealings with the mistakes and annoyances of, as you call us, "you people" on this forum, managed to be cordial in her response while expressing pretty much the same information. Thanks for that, Amber.)

Of course, there are always consequences to your unkindness, it's just that online you don't have to see the aftermath, the meek scuttling away of that inferior specimen you have just crushed underfoot who has learned nothing of the rules themselves or the lesson that reading them is important; they have only learned not to ask you, and maybe anyone else on this forum, for help. Like a dog whose nose you rub into the carpet where it peed, they learn only that you will hurt them.

@Vixxen81 s post was very kind, if you follow the advice she gave you, you'll save yourself a ban on a zero tolorance policy (which means you dont get your account back)

I cant speak for Vixxen but I do read the TOS for any site that involves my money, not doing that would be stupid and puts your income at risk.

Anyone looking to work in the adult industry should know how important rules are, the adult industry has more red tape, rules and regs that need to be followed than any other industry.
Like a dog whose nose you rub into the carpet where it peed, they learn only that you will hurt them.
This is a bad comparison, someone working on any site or for any business for that matter knows they need to learn the rules of the place where they are working.

If you havnt already, read the tos before you go live because there is a bunch of stuff in there that you wouldnt actually think of that you are not allowed to do... or dont, ignorance isnt an excuse thogh, the information is provided, it's up to you to read it.

As for your html, my prefered layout method on cb is tables. w3 shcools, search for tables, break your image into columns and rows to work out the layout, and a bunch of inline styling it make it look the way you want. It really is a waste of time though TBH

For the record I LOVE THIS it's so cute and it brings me right back to the days of customizing my tumblr blog. Sorry that some of the wording didn't work out in the long run but the layout is so cute.

I think they probably don't care if people get scared away because camming isn't for everyone and is already oversaturated. If I had to guess. But it doesn't mean people here don't want to see you succeed! I've seen most models get strict reminders to follow TOS when they first post here, so its not personal.

8 paragraphs to say your feelings are hurt by my pointing out where you would be flagged. I helped you, not going to apologize for not speaking to you like your mama would.

To even think that mentioning murder or drug use in a Haha way or any way would be allowed anywhere...mind boggling.

If camming is what you want to do, you're going to need much thicker skin.

My mom would actually have talked to me like a person, and taken my personhood seriously. I'm sorry if your mom raised you with that kind of unkindness, that sounds very painful/difficult.

Also, you helped me in a way I didn't want. I didn't ask for help with the content of my bio, I asked for help with the code. You were so excited to attack me and make yourself feel superior that you didn't bother to read that.

To even think that mentioning murder or drug use in a Haha way or any way would be allowed anywhere...mind boggling.

I didn't say it would be. I said if it were that important that they would have made a bigger deal, but I never said it wasn't a rule that made sense. I only expressed the feeling that there were nicer ways to say it, as evidenced by almost everyone else in this thread.

I'd be interested to see this rule of yours where it says I cannot reference drugs, by the way. I have found rules about using them on stream, about being on them while streaming, but nothing about me writing "Stoner 🌳💚" in the Smoke/Drink section of my bio. Considering the rules about drinking are the same as the rules on other drugs, surely they would be the same here. The closest I've found is "you will not discuss... any content that is infringing..." but again drinking is also infringing and they're literally asking you that question soooo...

If camming is what you want to do, you're going to need much thicker skin.

It's fascinating that you can see 8 paragraphs of criticism and think it's not about you at all. I expressed that I was indulging an angry part of myself, but it's not like you actually had much of an effect on me beyond the opportunity to clear a bitch.

Your thick skin has grown over your eyes and your heart. I hope that one day you will wake up and notice how tiring it is to be frustrated at everyone all the time, and how little it helps anybody.

This is really sweet of you! That's exactly the aesthetic I was going for and I'm very gratified by your response.

That said I am definitely never asking for advice on this forum again 😂, probably to the relief of most of the people in this thread. Thick skin is one thing, and it's not that I'm taking it personally. (For one thing, Vixxen would have to think of me as an actual person. 🙃) But why would I actively put myself in the position to be dunked on by experienced performers for not knowing after four months what they know after years, and then be continually talked past by more of them when I explain my position? (I've still only gotten one and a half answers actually about HTML and bios. 🫠) I mean seriously folks, it's really something when your forum is less friendly to the imperfections of newcomers than a fuckin' subreddit 😂

Anyway thank you again for this simple act of kindness, it made me feel less alone in a moment when I could feel myself giving in to my defensiveness. ❤️

I mean I feel like I've answered most of your points in other comments but it felt weird replying to everyone but you. I never said any of their points were wrong, just that they were being an asshole about it as illustrated by the much less bitchy and more understanding response just below it (oh, and the fact that it's not what I asked for help with, but hey-ho).

Thanks at least for having some HTML advice at the end there, though. I appreciate at least a gesture towards the actual question. 😂

It's called brevity, you should look it up and utilize it sometime.

If you read the TOS like you're told to do from the very beginning of signing up as a model, this conversation never would have happened. Ignorance on your part is not an excuse for breaking the law/rules.

I was helping you fix things that could get you banned. Because contrary to whatever is going on inside of your brain, I care about people being banned for things.

Regardless of whether you asked for it or not, this is a public forum and we will comment on the things we see. That's how it goes. Nothing I said to you was mean or incorrect and I'm sorry you were raised to think that everyone owes you flowery explanations and to keep you wrapped in a bubble where any criticism of something you've put into the world causes you to act like someone kicked your puppy and then shot you between the eyes. But I'm also probably at least two decades older than you and have far more experience in this world than you do. Good luck!

If you go through posts on here every single new person coming to the site has an issue with the feedback they get from experienced models because they got their feelings hurt because they don't understand the seriousness of these things and how it makes the industry look. Your criticism is not unexpected but it is wholly unwarranted.

She wasn't being unkind. Just truthful. I've seen greys say worse things in public chat.

Didn't say it was. Just said you could be nicer. Which you could.

Pfffft as if. You care about banning people for things, you said so yourself: "a model like me who hates rule breakers may report you for it". You literally go around looking for models to ban as if you're on some sort of crusade. 🤣 Are you really going to tell me that you care that much about "how it makes the industry look"? In fact, how does it make "the industry" look when someone writes a not-allowed word in their bio? To whom? Like, what are you even talking about? 😂

If you didn't want them to get banned, you could... message them? Let them know they're breaking the rules? But you're not interested in being helpful, you're interested in being right.

HAHAHAHAHAHA oh my god we finally got to the "buck up snowflake"/"participation trophy" section of the argument. Great stuff, quickly turns my reasoned and measured response into some ridiculous tantrum so that nothing I said can hold water.

Still, while you may have far more experience in the world, I've been in therapy working on myself for years and you... pretty clearly haven't. You may be more expert on camsites and on what it was like to live in the 90s, but I have more experience dealing with and admitting my own faults, and you seem to have spent the last 4-6 decades convincing yourself you have none. I'm afraid that what you have painted as the reaction of a triggered snowflake coddled by their parents would be considered by most experts in the field of psychology and psychiatry to be a self-awarely self-indulgent (however you imagine me, I've been grinning ear to ear while writing this, debate is one of my favorite things to do) but generally calm and honest rebuttal to an unprovoked social attack.

"Every new model I and my fellow experience-havers talk to finds our way of talking to them abrasive and cruel. Obviously this means only that all new models are thin-skinned crybabies not ready for THE REAL WORLD, and absolutely nothing about our way of talking."

Might be time to buy a saddle, bud.

PS Did you ever find that rule you made up about drug references? Would really put me in my place right now. 🙄

Wow this is seriously the most delusional shit I have ever read in my life. I don't need therapy. Most people don't need therapy. If you are in therapy and this is how you react to the world, fire your therapist(s). You've name called me, you've attacked me as a human being, you made up ridiculous allegations that I have never alluded to being a part of -- if I see a violation in my travels throughout the site, I report them. LIKE A GOOD MODEL CITIZEN DOES SO THE SITE DOESN'T GET IN TROUBLE.

I routinely help models figure out why they have been banned and help them get unbanned. You really need to get a grip on reality. Whatever that looks like for you.

wow you read all that in 30 seconds? Amazing, almost like you didn't read it at all.

But yeah ur right I'm incredibly delusional that's easier than considering you might have any faults ever.
I have plenty of faults, being right isn't one of them. But you can't handle being wrong. Work on that.

I think you're one of those people who equates kindness with everyone agreeing with you and never challenging you. Those people are fucking exhausting.
I agree, they are exhausting. But please note that I thanked Amber for her near-identical criticism directly below the original, so... not quite. It's literally just a question of tone.

oh shit I missed this one!

1. Everybody needs therapy.
2. I called you an asshole because you were being an asshole. I haven't attacked you "as a human being", I don't know you.
3. You sound like a cop. What part of warning the model before reporting them and giving them a chance to change their behavior is antithetical to the site getting in trouble?
4. You routinely do something that makes you feel powerful and respected. Even though you're probably the ones getting them banned in the first place so this could all just be avoided by you warning them of the rule they're breaking first.

Okay anyway I'm gonna stop doing this cuz it's suuuper self-indulgent and a waste of my energy but this was fun let's do this again some time 😂

Yeah, cause you see how well warning you about rule breaking went. You're something else. Shine on you crazy diamond. That's sarcasm, just in cause you're autistic and that's not a thing you understand.

The system of the report function is that if it's a warnable offense, they get a warning. If not, they get nothing, and it's a banned offense then they get a ban. See this is the problem with the "everyone gets a trophy for showing up" generations.
