An update.

Today I did it.

Today, I became a software engineer.

I worked as a receptionist at a smallish corporate office for a couple of months while wrapping up coding bootcamp. I didn't even finish before a software engineering role opened up. I applied and after a two month process, I was offered the job.

I realize how fortunate I am and how unlikely it is to get the first dev job you ever apply for but never underestimate the power of networking and getting to know people on the team you want to be a part of.

You all taught me to love my coworkers. You taught me how to support and build each other up. You did this for me. And with that attitude, I've built incredible relationships with the people I have worked with at every job since camming. I attribute so much of my success to my time spent at ACF.

Congratulations on you new path! That’s huge! I’ve been considering pursuing a career in Web Dev. while camming! Any pointers? I looked into Lamba School online and I’ve been doing the freecodecamp curriculum. I’d greatly appreciate it!
