I know, finally. After a whole year of camming.

Any suggestions on brands/models? My friend Steph suggested Canon Rebel t3i and the pricing seems just about right (anywhere between $350-$750, depending on mm), I'm just wondering what other girls use or if there are members that know of some models of cameras that they have used and really like.

Also, I wanted to ask about the mm? I am having a hard time deciding if the higher priced one would be worth the extra money since I plan on using the camera for purposes other than capturing those passionate dildoing myself moments. (I am talking mainly nature pictures; mountains, fires, rivers, etc.) Do you guys know if the quality difference is worth the extra 400 dollars?

Thanks everyone!!!

The t31 is a good one.

AH! Knew there was a thread somewhere :) Thanks Jerry!
Well that one is a bit different. It was centered around video cameras and lenses more. So this one's good too. :-D

I love my T3i (it's T3i, not T31....) with the kit lens that comes with it (18-55mm).
Taking all kinds of pictures works great for me. I get along much better with the kit lens than with the portrait lens I have, for example. DEFINITELY try the kit lens before you try another one. It's the most versatile for beginners and you can play around with it a lot.

I know that! It was early, I was groggy. 8-)

I got a t3i a few months ago, I love it. You can use the lens that comes with it for general shooting, and if you want a fancy one for up close portraits, get a 50mm. That lens is like $90 and it has takes great shots. Only thing is that lens crops in tight and doesn't have any zoom, so you have to stand across the room if you want to get full body shots of people.

In general, be careful and don't go for the Canon t3, WITHOUT the "i". It's cheaper, but it's also a way worse camera.

That's what bothers me most about the portrait lense. There's no way of taking a picture of yourself without a tripod. If you hold the camera and stretch your arm out as far as you can, you still won't be able to capture more of your face than this:

All I've been able to do with this lense for my camming was to make a picture set of face close-ups of me sucking a glass dildo... I think it's useless for full body shots unless you have a huge room, and good for portraits if you have a tripod and a remote and are able to stand/sit quite a few feet away from the camera.

Yeah, exactly! Thanks for having an image example of what it looks like when you take photos yourself.

So, it's not great for taking full body shots of yourself, like you say... but if you're interested in photography in general, it takes beautiful portraits. This lens is great to get that "blurry background" look that is so awesome

Have you tried getting a mini/table tripod with a ball head? Or better yet a Joby GorillaPod Tripod http://joby.com/. With a mini tripod you may be able to hold the legs of the tripod to get a little more distance as well set the camera to a timed burst. If you have good arm strength you also might be able to do this with a monopod as well.

However lets face it DSLR cameras were not made for "selfies".
