Do you know how to do a speed test? In the future that might help you figure out what's going on too. If you google "speed test" you can try the top one and the one by Oookla. Those will tell you what speed your internet is running at, and give you an idea of whether it's you or the site. I recently had to upgrade my internet to fiber optic, because my router was throttling service, and my upload was too small. I was paying comcast $180 per month, and now I'm paying century link only $65, and I have better speeds. It'll give you a read out, which will give you an idea of what's going on. Also if you have a busy big household, and lots of people are using it at once, it can slow down too.

One of the first things most people will tell you to do is to ethernet in, or use a cable, for a more stable connection. However some routers throttle the wired connection, and you actually get more bandwidth using the wifi. So you have to be careful, and test for yourself.
