Is it normal for amateur models to be "managed"?

Is it normal for amateur models to be in an "in" group and managed by a manager who helps them? I was recently told by another small content maker than she is managed along with a few other girls by an amateur manager who helps them choose what to post and say on their platforms. & apparently that it has increased their exposure a lot. She gave me his info so he could help me as well. My question is, is it normal for amateur models to be managed like this and what is the catch? do they demand payment, content, etc? =/

Not at all usual from my 6 years of experience. For amateur stuff-definately not the norm. I'd imagine at the VERY most--a manager for someone doing professional porn although from what I've heard (I only cam/film my own content) even pro-porn models don't need managers these days.

I can't imagine how helpful this person at all would be--having someone tell me what to post or say would drive me bonkers. I don't know what's worse--imagining models paying someone for this or giving him all this access to content for free. It sounds sketchy.

Sounds like he is, bare minimum, getting his rocks off by getting the girls to make the content HE wants. Telling them what to post and what to say might seem like a good idea to him, but this is an industry where what works for one model doesn't nessecarily work for another. I have failed to make any income with content that other models swear by, and vice versa. If you want to increase your exposure, join a RT group in Twitter and get it from fellow models sharing your content to their followers, not from some dude who gets off micro-managing new models.

What country are these models from? It could be a satellite studio, which is like a regular cam girl studio but the girls work from home. This would be extremely uncommon in north america though.

Nope nope nope. You don’t need one and I’d be damned if I let anyone try to tell me how to run my business. Do your own research and try your own way. Every cam model is different and you need to find what works for you. The sites already take their cut and so do taxes. No one else gets a piece of my work.

Don't be so fast on that. Imagine girls with little English or computer knowledge but who know how to act on cam. These girls are not here in the forum but they exist for sure. They'll also however be easy targets for exploitative tactics by shady people.

I sometimes help models by making stuff for them but in those cases they have told me what they want, image or video editing and stuff like that. Managing a model by telling them what to post and say seems very creepy to me.

just send him a message and ask what he wants in exchange ? that may be a sexy show , costum video, tokens or $$, or just for free.


P.S. Until its on virtual group and not in real life its fine - you dont need to be worried ! If he is asking you personal details, phone number, adress or anything else ITS DANGEROUS !! Stay away !!!!
