I'm bored, watching a very slow baseball game and munching on Albanese True to Fruit Gummy Bears.

Got me wondering what you all like to snack on, I would prefer fresh fruit to candy but produce has been meh lately.

I like sour cream and onion Lay's chips. Peanut butter on celery with golden raisins on top is good, too. Carrots and apples with peanut butter is also kind of fun for the taste buds.

Cheese and crackers, grapes.. Salter peanuts or better yet , salted cashew nuts!

I am also very partial to sour cream and onion crisps ( or chips as you call them on that side of the pond).

Nice fruit platter or fresh cut up veggies with hummus or other dips would also be nice right now!

I think @MarieElise had an apple dip concoction sometime last year, maybe earlier. It looked amazing. McDonalds had a wonderful yogurt dip for the fruit a long time ago, kind of a light strawberry flavor.

If you like cream cheese and garlic and ruffled crisps, make a dip with the cheese and garlic powder. A pinch will do. So yummy.

Pistachio nuts - but I have to limit how many I put in the bowl because even allowing time to shell them, I can devour them at light speed :)
If I can find good fresh pears, slicing them really thin with cheese on crackers is a great taste combo.
Celery sticks with garlic or roasted beetroot hummus.
Sour cream chips with french onion dip.
Big bowl of thick-cut fries with aioli.

Pistachios are so good, but eat too many and your stomach will absolutely hate you. At least, that’s how it is for me. I once got a bag of the already shelled pistachios and was absentmindedly shoveling them into my mouth and ate almost the whole bag. Needless to say, I soon regretted that.

As far as snacks go, I try to get healthier stuff. Lesser Evil had these dairy free sour cream and onion popper things and that was one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Unfortunately, they’re super hard to find now (and may even be discontinued). Lately, I’ve been really into Drizzilicious’s mini rice cake snacks. I normally hate rice cakes, but these don’t taste like normal rice cakes at all. They’re so delicious and also really low in calories. Highly recommend the s’mores and French toast flavors!!

Also, most people would probably think this is gross and doesn’t constitute as a snack, but recently I’ve been sautéing veggies in steak sauce and snacking on them throughout the day instead of eating it as a meal. So fucking good. Bonus delicious (or for some, or probably most, gross) points if it’s Brussels sprouts.

@Marceline you reminded me of one my poorest ($$) snack moments that turned out really awesome.

I had a bag of frozen tater tots, a bottle of A-1 sauce, and the last bit of a thing of sour cream. Baked the tots, then poured out steak sauce next to a dollop of the sour cream and did a swipe of both on the tot -- tasted just like a fully loaded baked potato.

That sounds absolutely delicious!!! I’d definitely try that!

Ooohhh, speaking of sour cream, when I’m feeling a bit extra, I’ll do salsa, black beans, corn and sour cream with tortilla chips. Soooo gooood.

Buc-ee’s has a black bean and corn salsa that I tried once and it was surprisingly good. I’d totally get it again if there was a Buc-ee’s close to me.

Niiice. You can probably recreate it like this:

- 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed until the bubbles stop forming
- 1 can of sweet yellow corn, drained
- 1 can of petite diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 bottle of Kraft Italian dressing or your favorite bottled Italian dressing
- Tortilla chips

Mix everything together and add as much cilantro as you want or don't want to add and let sit for 24 hours.

Nutella Banana Crêpes, street-vendor variety

Reese’s Big Cups, preferably from the freezer

Cookies n Cream milkshake, so I can eat a big, cold, gooey mess of Oreo chunks at the end

Sun Chips, Garden Salsa variety

…and pretty well damn near anything chocolate

(I’ve been told I have a sweet tooth)

I can't do the Garden Sun Chips. Salsa should not be baked into a chip. But the original Sun Chip and the cheddar Sun Chip are awesome.

I fkn LOVE brussels sprouts. My stomach and GI system does NOT.

It makes me so sad.

Does anyone else like to add a scoop of cream cheese to a bowl of salsa for chips and salsa snack? Pace Picante sauce plus a bit of cream cheese is a go to for us here.

You can do the same thing with cabbage as brussel sprouts and it might be easier GI wise.

I live and work far from civilization, in a situation where there's an employee dining room. I get two meals a day, one of which tends not to be too nutritious, so I snack to shore up my diet. I try to avoid empty carbs, but lately haven't been very successful at it. My go-tos are string cheese, sliced cheddar or pepper jack, sliced veggies (when they aren't too sad-looking off the salad bar) spicy mixed nuts that I mix up myself, and jerky or pepperoni sticks -- although I've really only found one brand of pepperoni sticks I actually like. If I can get baked pepper jack cheese crisps for a good price, I enjoy those. For a sweet tooth, I'll do a Ghirardelli 72% cocoa dark chocolate square, sometimes with an Ande's mint or a handful of nuts. I love fruity chewy candy, and my guilty pleasure is gummy bears. Albanese are my favorite brand, but I wouldn't pass up Black Forest or Haribo. I haven't been much of a fan of actual fruit in my life, but lately, I've been enjoying apples and oranges, and melons, grapes, and berries on the rare occasions I have access to them.

I'm a HUGE fan of dips. If I can dip my snacks into something, you better believe I'm going to! Salsa, queso, peanut butter, sunflower seed butter, sour cream, mustard, bbq, hot sauce -- you name it.

Oh heck yes. I'll take cream cheese dips any way I can find them!
