Oh that old argument I figured we had move beyond this one ... I guess Bitpay/coinbase isn't in business because of it lol ...
No it still stands. A small portion of cam models are ok with it at this point but overall the big names in the camming world are much more comfortable just being paid the old fashioned way. So feel free to target a smaller market.

Are you the same guy who came here years ago to try and school us on cryptocurrency?

As someone who believed in Bitcoin from the start and who holds a small fortune in bitcoin... I would never work on a site whose only payout method is Bitcoin. Why? Simple.. last time I sold $20k in bitcoin through Coinbase, I got a phone call from my bank asking me to explain in detail where the money came from and why I was making that transaction. Cryptocurrencies raise many flags in traditional banking system because of the amount of people who use crypto for money laundering and other illicit activities. So if I was to get paid in Bitcoin I would have a lot of problems exchanging bitcoin to USD or Euro so I can live off it. Maybe in the future if bitcoin becomes more integrated it will be an option. For now, it is very sensible for us, or anyone really, to ask to be paid in a currency we can actually use in real life. The reason we oppose bitcoin camsites is twofold: first, we don't like the payout method, second, they all seem to think -somehow- that bitcoin in and on itself is attractive enough to make a camsite take off, and we all know better.

No they aren't in business because of how stable the cryptocurrency is, they are in business for the opposite reason. Because cryptocurrency fluctuates a lot people convert regular currency back and forth they make money on the transactions. If cryptocurrency were stable regular employers might start paying people in it, places like grocery stores would accept it as payment and it would be used in b2b transactions so long term stability in cryptocurrency would not be in their interest because then they wouldn't make money on transaction fees.

So I was thinking about, because I have a fan base that does use bitcoins. But nahh. I'm not trusting sending my dudes who I spent years building relationships and trust with to go to some entitled douchebag who thinks it's a good idea to be a snarky asshole when people are skeptical. The thing is what I don't like about coinbase is it takes 5 business days for money to transfer from Bitcoin. I will get the exact amount it's worth if I cash out immediately, but it takes time. My bank also flags coinbase, so I have to approve it everytime. Sometimes I have money sent back if I don't catch it in time.

Also because something is a "free market" doesn't make it right. The fact that we haven't really got a clear answer if people can post copyrighted content and profit off it. You really didn't do anything to explain verification on these posts. Something downvote.

I started my camming on Reddit so I like the potential formula. But Reddit has users to upvote or downvote. You really don't have active users or any, so how would this self moderation take place if there is no one really there who cares about stolen content? Users are too busy consuming to do reverse image searches and look up the poster. Have you spoken with any lawyers for advice on this matter? Because if you aren't bothered with being bombarded with dmcas and potentially copyright theft, yikes.

Anywho 10/10 for entertaining thread. Good luck on your business, sir.

sorry for dp, but i had extra thoughts.

By the way, was this the same forum skeptical of Bitcoin ? LOL loved how that turned out its over $10,000 dollars per token.

is that the same dude who came back after to rub it in our faces of bitcoin value? idk man it's hard to tell obsessive assholes apart.

also cammodels in general are skeptical about bitcoin, and rightfully so. it's a unregulated highrisk currency. we are commission based earning worker, not a lot of people want to risk. over on stripperweb the bitcoin bros would be doing the same over there. pitch idea, get hounded with questions and skeptical, bitcoin gets his feels hurt because we aren't giving him a positive reaction, becomes an asshole. same formula, so maybe it's just the same dude.

note: my husband and i made over $15k last year from bitcoin.

No idea if this is the place to do it but we are a new crypto-based website who will pay per upvote for pictures ( soon video clips) . We are sort of like a reddit style website , but instead we've tokenized the upvote process. Right now our token is hovering around 0.05 cents per token and on avg. the girls are getting 150-200 tokens per post ( between $5-10 ) . We think by year end we can get the token up to 50 cents. There is a lot of potential in this and wanted to put this offer out here. Thanks everyone!

Edit: I should have put the website! https://www.dporn.co is the website so you can see how it all works. I'll send a registration link to anyone who wants to join. Thanks!

The idea of a content site that pays for content based on upvotes is interesting - putting the details of that aside - especially if you would pay out in the user's options of USD, Euros, or Bitcoin.

What I HATE about your idea is that the payout is in a crypto currency you created. This can be the source of fraud in multiple ways:

1) You probably own most of the crypto. Therefore the upside created by your users in appreciating currency value benefits you many many times more than it benefits your users.

2) You can dilute that currency as often and as much as you want, and the financial controls to supervise you against doing that are NOTHING except your promises.

3) You can instantly wipe out all value of any arbitrary user of your currency, simply by invalidating their crypto using whatever technique you can develop to do that.

4) You can skim currency conversion transactions any way you want, because no one else but you makes a market in currency conversion of your crypto.

What I think you fail to appreciate is that most content creators hate even Bitcoin, because of the currency fluctuations. If you implemented a robust business model just for the upvote=payout idea, I think you would discover that 90%+ of your users ask for their payout in a stable currency. If you believe that people are going to invest in your crypto currency, in order to enable your content model, I think you are dreaming.

Hey I actually I’m very interested. Wanting to get into new stuff.

clips4sale -60% cut of profit
ManyVids - 60-80% cut of profits
iwantclips - 60% cut of profit
chaturbate - 55% cut of profit
adultmembersites - 67% cut of profit.
onlyfans - 80% cut of profit

Steemit - Less then 5%

Why would you take 5 dollars, so some one else can make 95 dollars.
You could be making 60, so some one else can make 40.

More so, why would I give some one 95 dollars, for you to give me 5 dollars worth of content?
Especially when I can go some where else, and get 60 dollars worth of content.

FYI
About a year ago, steemit cut 70% of their staff. The CEO left. steemit value dropped to 5% of it's all time high.
As in the currency has gone from 8 dollars a coin to 0.12 a coin.

If your porn goes viral on steemit, you might make 10 bucks. But more often posts are like 0 or 1 dollar.
