Does anyone know if the Many Vids video chat allows you to message the model via text chat during the call or does it force you to have a cam to cam video call only? I'm not keen on the latter.

So as far as the video chat option on ManyVids, that isn't actually done directly on the ManyVids platform. The video chat would take place on whatever platform the model chooses to use (I imagine that a lot of models use Skype). You would pay the model's rate to video chat, and she'd let you know which platform it will take place on, as well as what her username on there is. If you two did a video chat via Skype, yes, you can just do text chat without you having to turn on your cam (It will not force you to turn on your cam), and she doesn't have to see you.

Yes, that's something you two would have to discuss (exact date and time). ManyVids is just the platform on which you'd be paying her.
Actually it didn't work like that in the end. There was a "Vid chat" option which was paid for in dollars per minute however the "private" option was charged in tokens per minute and took place in the Many Vids platform. So all good.

Cool. I've never heard of that on ManyVids, and as long as I've been on there the only video chat option it's shown me is what I showed you in the screenshot above. But if you're saying that you've actually used the video chat feature yourself directly on the ManyVids platform (without having to use any outside program like Skype, etc.), I'll take your word for it.
The only video chat I've ever done on that site is camming on ManyVids Live, and being taken into private shows from there.
Yeah, I had a pvt with my model friend on there last night. It was a choice to go pvt on that platform because I'm led to believe the model gets a much better cut than other platforms. Otherwise I wouldn't have gone near it because it's a bit all over the place if I'm honest. I'm not really a fan. Yes, ManyVids Live is one of the sections of MV where the model gets the higher percentage of 80% (A little less than that if the model is under Boleyn Models daily pay service). This screenshot shows the different areas of the site, and the percentage that models receive. I really do like that "Make it rain" feature, and think it's an excellent way for a member to spoil his favorite model(s) from an adult-friendly platform.
The private was priced in tokens per minute so presumably she gets the "Tokens" rate. If the pvt was 500 tokens worth then she would see (by my calculation) about $40 which tallys up with the 80% rate elsewhere because 500 tokens costs $49.99.
I know it's not much money in real terms and the studio gets their cut but it's definitely better than the 35% (less studio take) from SM which was the only other available option.

Sorry, I didn't mean that to come across as me teaching you how to suck eggs. It was more like me doing the arithmetic in my head but my hands actually typing it out at the same time.Yes, I know this. I used to cam on there.
I'm pleased though. The idea of spending $50 and her getting the best part of $40 is very appealing and seems a much fairer division of the spoils.
