I would like more details on how offline tips work, and how much they really do help improve camscore. What is the minimum limit? Does it matter if model does not log in for long period of time?

More specifically, why does one tip seem have no effect, but next day another tip does improve camscore. Do you have to actually log in to MFC to have the tip calculated for your camscore?

Camscore updates every 15 mins or so, but also only updates if the model has been on recently. Doesn't have to be on camera, logging on the main site to browse counts too.

Offline tips don't help any more or less than online tips do, IF the offline tips were going to be tipped if you were online anyway. Camscore is a function of how quickly you make tokens compared to how quickly everybody else is making tokens, based on the past 60 days. Thus, even if you don't cam, there will be minor fluctuations. If the general tokens/hour increased while yours stayed the same, your camscore will go down. If the general tokens/hour decreased while yours stayed the same, your camscore will go up.

So, it will go up or down based on not only what happened today, but also what happened 61 days ago. Example: if you got a really big tip, bigger than normal, 61 days ago, then your camscore will go down as it just fell off the back. However, if you had a really dead day 61 days ago, then your camscore will go up as that bad day fell off the back.

Thus, having a usual "videos half-off if tipped offline" will probably hurt more than help if you advertise it while you're on camera. Guys who would tip the 200 while you're on camera will wait till you log off and tip the 100 then. You got 100 fewer tokens for the same amount of time on camera, so your camscore will be less than it would've been.

However, if you're going to be gone for a long period of time, advertising an offline tip sale is a great way to keep your camscore up while your online days slowly drop off the back of that 61 days.

----

I have never heard of there being a minimum for offline tips.

Thank you very much, I was under impression that offline tips were of greater value than what they appear to be. And double thanks for time spent with a really good explanation!

I wish we could put out a mass bulletin to every member and model on MFC to let them know this isn't the case.

Then again, who are we to give 2 shits?

Tips are tips and tokens are tokens. All of them are great.

There is a slight exception, at least in my nit-picking mind. :) If the offsite (really more accurate than "offline") tip really was above and beyond any other possible onsite tips a member would ever make, and wasn't just a swap, then the offsite tip carries a bit more weight IF the model isn't onsite herself, since cam scores are a function of time onsite and tokens received, and since such an offsite tip carries no time element to it. But that would be difficult to demonstrate or prove.

Offline tips are worth 5 cents a token, while online tips are only worth a nickel.

(Yeah, I know I already posted this once before, but it still rings true.) :handgestures-salute:

Today I finally learned how to not confuse a nickel with a dime anymore. :thumbleft:

That took me awhile. "By why is the smaller one worth more?"

In England, the second largest coin is worth the second smallest amount (the 2p piece). I remember being confused by this when I was younger :)
