Hi ladies, I'm Diamond. :hello2: I've been a stripper on and off for the last 6 years, I'm 23 and I'm just looking into getting on cam. Someone referred me to LiveJasmine, where I just registered, but honestly I'm not familiar enough with any sites to know which ones are better than others. Then someone else referred me to this forum so that I could ask all my questions.

I guess what I want to know is, how does this all work? Like, how much should I be getting paid per session and what am I supposed to wear/do? Maybe this seems silly to you, but I'm not familiar with this world at all.

I have never personally worked for LJ but some girls here have and if I remember correctly none of them speak very highly of that site. Most of the girls on this forum either work on MFC http://www.myfreecams.com or SM http://www.streamate.com I would definitely recommend checking out those two sites.

MFC is different from any other cam site I have been to. The site is set up like a community and based around making regulars/friends. You can give out contact info, promote your own website, give out screen names, facebook, twitter etc! MFC is something that you really need to work at, have a consistent schedule, be creative etc. Go to the site, watch a few girls and you will understand. MFC has a set price for private and group chat but you set your own prices for anything else you may want to sell (ie. videos/panties/phone number etc).

SM is much more about doing private shows. You can set your rate per minute with them, you can also do phone chat through their system that will keep your phone number blocked. I have found that you can do well on SM about anytime you log on. Having a group of regulars on there is nice but not necessary. If your schedule is not consistent it won't bother your income nearly as much as if you were working on MFC.

What to wear? Pretty much anything you want. I tend to wear sports bra's and tanks with panties or bikinis. Im not a fan of lingerie so I don't wear it often but a lot of girls do. It really depends on how you want to cam and what persona you want to give off. Do you want to be the real you only maybe a little more "slutty" or do you want to create a cam persona that is nothing like the real you?

There is tons of info inside the model only area about different sites to work on, what to wear, how to set up your camera and lighting etc. Its a plethora of information so get in there do your research and get started!

LiveJasmin was the first site I worked on when I started camming. I can't reccomend it.

-If you leave the view of the camera (lets say to pee), you get fined
-No way to turn down privates, they are auto accepted
-MOST of the guys on there are rude and demanding, MOST have offbeat fetishes (nothing wrong with that, but you will expected to consent to everything)
-Nipple slip in public chat, even if accidental, is a significant fine
-Support almost always takes sides with the member
- Very low percent/payout and there is a two week delay on their pay period, so you're looking at 4 weeks before your first cheque (thats what happened to me)
-if the guy tells support you didnt do what he asked in private, or that he wasnt happy with it, you can have the money you earned taken back
-Not allowed to ask for "tips" or money outside a show, mention other sites, twitter etc

When I worked on LiveJasmin I was working for very long hours late at night, and doing things that made me feel disgusting because the site's dynamic put me in a position where it felt like I had to (to avoid the chargebacks). It took me one month to receive a cheque for $500. Granted this was last summer and I havent been back since.

The only thing I can add - and I've NEVER really been 'in' the stripper world so I could be completely off.. but camming depends a lot on building a 'character' up. If you're a dancer you go to the club, you dance, you go home. You don't have to do a lot of marketing outside of showing up and looking hot. Camming - especially www.myfreecams.com the guys want to know you're 'real'. Things like blogging, tweeting, emailing or chatting off cam to your biggest tippers, making and marketing content (vids/pics) are things that many camgirls DO and can help. You don't have to do all or any but these things do help depending on the kind of 'persona' you want to present.

LJ pays the models 35% of what the member spends.

MFC pays the models 5 cents per token, which is 62.5% of what I spend when I purchase them.

FYI.
