New Tag

Hi,

I know that the function of the New Tag changed a bit recently. Is it now only ever given once per person? I've known quite a few models who worked in a studio then went solo to work for themselves. They had the new tag when they started at their studio and the new tag when they went solo, which made it easier for their followers to find them when they made the move. A model that i know well has started his solo account today and he has no new tag, it also occurs to me that recently i've found a few ex-studio models who have started to work for themselves and been surprised to see that they've been online for weeks and i've not noticed despite checking the new models frequently. If this is the case it does seem a little harsh as it's a disincentive for studio models to ever leave their studio.

There is definitely a bias that favours studios. I've known a lot of models who were recruited by studios and who eventually began feeling that working for the studio was restrictive and wanted to work for themselves but couldn't leave the studio because they knew would not get a fair start in a new account.

I would be very much in favour of giving models whose first account was an affiliate account the chance to start a second, independent account with a promo period, provided that enough safeguards were put in place to make sure it's not being abused.

I've seen a few models who have abused the new tags by ditching their account and creating a new one whenever business is bad. (one model told me he thought his old account had a "bad energy"). But i've also seen guys who have changed accounts due to needing to change studios (studios are not always the most ethical businesses and sometimes if working for themselves isn't an option models have no other option but to join another studio). In those cases the new tag helped the model and their fans find each other again quickly. The ones that i saw abusing the system were far fewer than the ones who genuinely needed the new tag.

One option would be for the new tag to be limited by combination of model + studio. eg a model works for one studio, they get a new tag. If they move to an another studio they can get another new tag. If they join again without a studio they get a new tag. But if they create a second account with a studio they already work for or a second solo account, no new tag.

Though TBH i think the best option would for models to be able to reclaim their account from a studio if they leave. As Chaturbate has identity documents for each model, it shouldn't be hard for a model to to prove that they are the person who worked on that account.
