ok, so I have a Russian camgirl friend that is considering selling her number and/or raffling it off and since she didn't want to heed my advice to join this community herself (she knows about ambercutie forums, just doesn't want to join), she asked me to come and ask questions on her behalf

1. anyone have opinions or suggestion about whether to give it out or not
2. any good precautions she could take (she's already got a new sim card)
3. is it better to do a fixed price or raffle ... and if a fixed price, what would be a fair price to ask
4. do most girls do texting only or should she feel obligated to answer a call.
5. do members that buy phone numbers expect sexting or pics or physically call

more questions may come later, that's all I have right now.

she's a bit shy, but has given me permission to give out her name to any models that may ask in PM

Biggest suggestion: detail exactly what they can expect, and put a disclaimer that anyone making a nuisance of themselves will be blocked. Make absolutely sure that you send them the rules of the phone number before you give them the phone number.

That new number- make sure your real name's not connected to it in any way, and ONLY use it for camming, since you'll probably have to change it when you get a clinger (member who becomes obsessive)

Most ladies use a fixed price for a set time period. (example: 500 tokens for a month)

4. do most girls do texting only or should she feel obligated to answer a call.

This is completely up to you! Some girls do text only, some do calls and text, some do sexy picture messages. It's whatever YOU are comfortable with!

My preference is for text only, with phone calls available during private only.

Members will expect anything and everything unless you set down your limits. How many texts a day can they expect from you? Are there any times when you won't be able to text?

Some models have sold their number "forever" and found in a few months, when their life or phone plan changes, they are no longer interested in texting their clients fifty times a day. So I highly encourage her to sell her number for a month, 8 weeks, et cetera.

Also, she should make it clear that this is not "limitless" texting. I tell members I turn my phone off when I am out with friends and sleeping. I also tell them that if they text me 100 times in an hour, spam my phone or abuse it, they no longer get the right to text me.

Yes. She should not give out her real phone number. She should use Google Voice or any other proxy she can find.

Whether it is 'better' or not to have a fixed price or raffle, that may depend on whether or not she wants her phone # to be a special event or if it's just going to be for sale now. If it is a special event so that only one or two members get her #, a raffle can drum up more interest.

As far as a fair price, that is up to her and it depends on what she is comfortable with, and how many people she wants to have her number. I might sell my phone number for 200 tokens for a month. Other models might sell their number for 1000 tokens "forever".

In general, if she charges more, members will likely expect more. If I paid 500 tokens to get a model's number for four weeks, and she never texted me back or didn't seem interested at all in talking to me, I would be disappointed. If I was paying 10 tokens a week it wouldn't bother me as much if she wasn't attentive.

I have never heard of any models taking phone calls when they sell their number, although I'm sure there may be. I make it explicitly clear I do not take phone calls.

My plan charges me .25 cents for each international text. Seems like that would make having lots of foreign buyers expensive, unless her plan has unlimited international texting.

International texts are expensive. A way around this is the use of WhatsApp Messenger. It is free on Android for a year, then it costs like $2-$3 for the next 3 years of service. It is also $1 on the iPhone up front, but no additional cost thereafter. I think it is also available on Blackberry and Window Phone 7. I use it to text a European model I know-- and I didn't even have to buy her number. I joked with her one day about me sending texts to her, and she gave me her number. We just send texts to each other, randomly, because my work schedule conflicts with me seeing her online most of the week.

There are advantages and disadvantages to WhatsApp and similar applications. I'll list the advantages/disadvantages of WhatsApp.

Advantages:
1. Uses the Internet or texting/MMS. Because of this, texts can be longer than 160 characters and international texts are free through it.

2. Keeps an online record of use, so if you change phones, you can download previous threads.

3. In a newer update, allows for the pulling out of specific conversations to shortcuts on a home screen, so you can just click that shortcut to get right to a conversation.

4. Updated pretty frequently.

5. Lets you know who in your contact list has WhatsApp and allows you to invite others to get it if they don't have it.

6. Full MMS support because it goes through your internet connection.

7. Because it uses the internet, it can be used over WiFi without using your plan's data limits, or it can also be used on a phone that is currently out of service if the phone has WiFi ability. This is how I linked it to my Google Voice account, my phone did not have service when I first got the app.

Disadvantages:
1. The biggest disadvantage is that WhatsApp can only be used with other people who have the application. It can't be used to send or receive texts from people without the application.

2. It requires a phone number to be linked to. Now, for US models this can be a Google Voice number (mine is linked to my GV number), and if a similar service exists for models in other countries (Google Voice is still limited to the US, as far as I am aware) that can get texts, it can link to those. So it means the person getting the number will have a model's phone number. So a second phone/SIM card or a proxy service is a better number for models. Note, I have the European model's actual phone number (well, both, she is on vacation in another country right now, and she sent me a message from that number, too). But I think I am one of very few members who has her number, so I do not abuse it.

3. It cannot be used to make or receive calls.

So, since the OP's friend sounds like she is in Russia, this or a similar app sounds like a good way to have international people be able to buy her number.

I'm the model Crumb was talking about Ty so much for clearing it up, it does honestly sound much more complicated that i thought it'd be so i guess for now i won't be getting into the whole phone thing.. I wasn't very comfortable with it initially & was hesitating, but honesty was hoping it's an extra way to make quick $ or smth but by the looks of it I wouldnt be able to go through with it & still feel comfortable.
