I want to make the prices the customer pays the same on every site but I seem to be getting the pricing wrong on pornhub.

Does anybody have this down and can give me an example for what I should price clips if I want the customer to see the following prices?

- 1$
- 5$
- 10$

Thanks!

I thought they just saw whatever you typed in, but I am starting to wonder if different models have different dash boards. Do you have a screen shot or something, so I can see what you are meaning? Are they tacking on an extra percentage, after we set our prices? That site is a bit confusing.

I thought so, too! With the minimum being 99 cents I figured they just used what we gave them like everyone else. I'd check my account from the member view to see, but I'm on a bus right now and that's a little much.

My VPN is on the fritz so can not show the price on modelhub (does not show when logged in) but the price customers see differs from the price I enter in settings shown on screenshot. Tried pricing with both the 80% and 65% earnings in mind but still did not match up. Sent a mail to pornhub to but they can be slow sometime. Will update here when they respond.

The price shows to customers just as you price it on your model setting side:

I see from @Aiden Peach 's info that he is in Europe, maybe it's a currency conversion thing? Which would be really silly of PH to do, but I could see it happening. Aiden does your field to enter the price specify that it is in USD, like Amber's does?

Edit: I see from your screenshot that it does. Weird! I have no further input, except that you may just have to contact them about it to find out what is going on. 😂

Yeah I think ya might be right! The screenshot in his post says USD so maybe he's seeing the conversion price once it goes on the live page.

I know exactly what OP is talking about and I'm from Europe (Sweden) too. It's very frustrating, and I agree it's silly of PH to do if it has to do with conversion. I'm hesitant to announce the pricetag for vids and customs because it's easy to confuse.

It'll give me one thing on my end and another when I look at my page when I'm not signed in. It bothers me that the cents seem so random; I like the neat .49/.50/.99 etc ones...

Pics related.

Oh God that is some bullshit. Thank you for clearing it up, hopefully they will adress this issue somehow.

Dumb question here, but those price differences are around the 20% difference mark. Is there a 20% VAT that pornhub is building into the charge?

https://www.modelhub.com/information/terms
"We will deduct and withhold from any amounts payable to you under these Terms of Services such amounts as we are directed to deduct and withhold or are required to deduct and withhold with respect to such payment under the provision of any applicable laws (including Value Added Tax or VAT) and remit such deduction and withholding amount to the appropriate governmental entity. "

So, whatever price you set, is what you should get. But they are adding 20% more to that price, then withholding it to send to the government.

This sounds very odd since VAT has to be paid by myself on any earnings I make since we are not payed emplyees but independant freelancers. And under EU regulations I do not have to pay any VAT for services sold outside my country. Seems very sketchy.

I think Jerry is right. Here's why:

I went onto Amber's PH page, and I don't get $20.99 either. 20% of 21 is 4.2, and 4.2 + 21 is 25.2. Not quite exact, but much closer than you'll find by converting usd to your currency, and then back again.

I clicked further and just before checkout, noticed this: "All prices include VAT."

I know tips don't count for VAT and this seems to reflect on PH's tip feature (Amber's minimum shows up as $5 for me and I think I'm the same).

Yeah the VAT thing is right, just seems sketchy from PH side. Why are they charging us VAT in EU?

Well they're charging the customer, not the model. Raising the price so that you as the model still get the amount you ask for (well, minus their cut.)

But if I want 1 dollar for a clip the customer pays 1.20 (ish), PH then payout 65% of that dollar to me. For US models the customer pays 1 dollar and you earn 65%. So if we want the customer to pay 1 dollar we have to lower our end to 0.8 dollars (ish). I do not understand why they have set it up this way. I must be missing something about how the laws work for europe.

Yeah I'm completely clueless how laws/taxes work there, but to me it would seem that PH is trying to NOT charge the models a fee/tax that they have to somehow collect, so they're passing that charge onto the customer instead by raising the price for them, leaving the amount the same for models.

edit: after having a short Google session, it seems VAT is like Europe's version of US's Sales Tax. So yeah, PH has to pay that extra % to the govt. It's charged to the customer, not the creator.

You are correct Amber, US customers will see the price we set so the taxcost is indeed transfered on to the buyer. Thank you everyone for helping out!

C4S is now using the Vat I notice for Europe will it also be for U.S customers? 🧐
I’m not sure but they posted notices about it this weekend to alert studios. You could probably find more info in their help or announcements section for studios.

I think the issue is people are forgetting in the US we add tax AFTER purchase price but Europe INCLUDES tax in the price. So what's happening is the EU people are seeing 20% VAT included in the price ahead but US customers will see the tax added at point of purchase. If I buy @AmberCutie video for $20.99 it's going $23.48 based on where I live.
