Levon Helm died
Dood was the man. Started out as part of Dylan's backing band, went on to record a bunch of stone-wall classics with said band (they were just called The Band; simplicity FTW, bb ) - their self-titled album; Music From Big Pink; Stage Fright; Jericho; these are just amazing albums everyone should hear at least once in their lives. He also featured heavily in Scorsese's film about The Band's "last" concert (The Last Waltz is maybe the best music film ever made, it's also on Netflix, so you should watch it, yeah?)...
A great drummer, a fine guitarist, an even better singer (he had one of the most unique voices in music, even throat cancer couldn't change that)... dood was the man.
