Skype with customer from Canada. Help

So this customer told me he would pay me through paypal. I was kind of nervous about using this method, but agreed. I finally got a message saying if I would accept the money on paypal since it was CAD? It was only $10 even though we agreed on a much higher amount since the length was going to be long. He kept insisting that was wrong and he sent the right total. I told him I would deny the payment and send it back. I feel like this guy is playing a scam on me. Has anyone had something done similar to them? Now he keeps insisting on pics saying its only fair since its taking so long=_=

Yes he is scamming you. He is trying to lowball you and then bully you into sending something else... I wouldnt bother accepting the payment even as an asshole tax, because this guy will probably charge it back anyhow.

Paypal is notorious for freezing accounts for adult content and chargebacks. NEVER accept paypal for anything adult-related.
PLEASE don't send this guy anything. Block him and run far, faaaar away. If he takes advantage of you once he'll do it again and again.

You can see how much he sent just as well as he. Go into your paypal - history section and find his transaction. Remember his first and/or last name then go to Paypal - Advanced Search section, pick last name to search for and put in his name. This way ONLY his transaction will show up. Screen shot that and email it to him. Tell him to pony up the difference to the full amount and if he continues to try that nonsense the price doubles.

When we, in America, choose to send to Canadian models we can choose to send it as a personal gift (NOT a purchase). Then we can choose to send it in Canadian currency. It then gives us the option to pay with our credit card for a small fee OR out of our paypal balance for NO fee. After our choices are entered it gives us the total in $US that we will be taking out of our account AND the total amount $CAN that you will be getting. So if you should get $10CAN it will show that you will be getting $10CAN at the same time it shows what it will cost us with fees and current exchange rates. For example I just sent $30Can to a model using my paypal balance. I was charged $30.17US and the model got the EXACT $30CAN.

It's hard to screw up. He didn't mess up by accident.

Thanks so much for this! If after he supposedly calls, I will just tell him its on mfc or nothing. If he keeps going on making stories, I'm just going to block him:/

Is it really worth your time and a few bucks to have to deal with someone like that? If it seems like it would be crazy in real life, then it would be crazy on the internet. You aren't obligated to speak to this person, please don't let people walk all over you like that. There will always be more members who are reasonable people, you dont have to bend over backwards for crazies.

You can still always do Skype shows for tokens or gift cards or gifts from your wishlist. :thumbleft: But NO Paypal.
Become a verified model on here to get access to a thread that'll teach you how to protect yourself on Skype with a VPN, so that members can't find out your IP address via Skype.

To be fair I will say that sometimes using paypal does work. But there's so many asshats that will take advantage of it or turn you in just to make your life harder it's not worth it. Usually the models that use it successfully long term only use it for their long term regulars who they know and have already paid to go private several times using tokens. Another indicator is if they ask you in pm or mail for your paypal name so they can just send you a gift with no strings attached. Usually those are much less 'asshatish.' It's really a judgement call on your part whether to trust the person or not, or just play it safe and not use it at all. I agree this person should be written off already.

As already mentioned paypal doesn't do adult, so even if he did send you the right amount he could always turn around & dispute it later with paypal & he's get refunded.

It's worth mentioning though that anything you do that's mfc related you should only accept tokens. The site owner is very liberal & allows models to pretty much do anything as long as they do it getting tokens in return. He is not a big fan of people circumventing his good will & taking money out of his pocket

Most other sites you'd be terminated for outside contact let along outside show. Always err on the side of mfc & take the tokens

Doesn't Paypal also hit you with a $2000 fine if they catch you using it for adult-related transactions? Pretty sure they used to a while back, but they may have changed their policies since I last used their service.

I haven't heard of the fine, but I have heard of the account being frozen and Paypal just keeping the money in it.
I think a model on this forum mentioned that her 100% non-adult paypal that she used for Ebay was frozen temporarily because of her adult work.

The only way I'd ever accept paypal is as a 100% no-strings-attatched gift, from a member I knew very well and even then I wouldnt because its technically fraud to set up a paypal account with fake personal details and I wouldnt want to give out my real info. There are SOOO many other ways to exchange money/gifts on the internet, as a general rule never trust someone who asks for it on a camsite.

I also kind of wonder if Paypal ever checks where they're being linked to from I think thats how some girl's Chipins got frozen, they saw that people were coming to it from a porn site.
