So I just went to my first burlesque show

Yeah, had a girl friend visiting for the weekend, so I took her to see a show.

I wasn't expecting to see tits or pussy, my vague understanding of burlesque was its a kind of dancing with feathers and corsets.

What we just witnessed was essentially shy strippers with fat arses, a lot of make up and tattoos.

The best one ( in terms of artistry and performance) was a dude!

All in all I was quite entertained but not in the slightest bit aroused.

I think burlesque has evolved more into an art style entertainment instead of what I believe it started out as which is to tease people into sexual excitement. Either way, cool story, bro. :thumbleft:

The tease is def a big part of it but the entertainment factor has always been the biggest. To really have a proper burlesque show a few acts, not just dancing is pretty common. Especially cheesy magic or talents.

I have seen all sorts of shows that called themselves 'Burlesque Shows' from Mexico to Cali, Vegas, Chicago, New York and New Orleans. Oddly enough, the one put on by an 'all tranny cast' in N.O. was by far the best and most entertaining and from what the old folks told me of the original ones, the N.O. shows were the closest to the traditional "real deal".... and not a tat to be seen anywhere. :lol:

Some of my favorite burlesque acts are those with outlandish props. I have seen super oversized powder puffs and even the very famous and well known giant champagne glass performance. I love browsing YouTube for vintage burlesque videos.

It's not supersized or anything but I have been known to break out my ostrich feather fan from time to time on cam.

A big part of what made the night enjoyable was that the audience kind of went along with it.
We all whooped and cheered regardless of the actual performance.

If I go again i'll be prepared for sillyness rather than sexiness.
