I just saw a Commercial for Streamate on TV. I don't like this ad one bit. It suggest that camgirls have the intention of meeting up IRL.

Is the new one.

As a model currently working exclusively on Streamate, I honestly don't mind it one bit. When guys ask if I meet up in real life to escort or date, I say no and that is the end of that. It is what it is. Being in this industry, people will think you will meet up with them for the fact that there are a lot of girls who do, whether you want to admit it or not.

Btw, Lupe Fuentes who is on the end of both those ads going "loggg on...now!" is currently being sought by Interpol for child pornography-related offences;
An international red notice was issued by Interpol for Fuentes, who was believed to be residing in the United States.

I do remember her basically going into hiding for a while due to that but I have seen her on Streamate recently so I figured she got everything sorted out.

The second ad wasn't bad--funny even, and the inclusion of "live out your fantasies" kind of implies that it's not a "meet up" site.

The FIRST ad, however, gives the impression that it IS a meet up site--especially with the phrase "in your area." Also, the inclusion of the word "singles" is patently false, lots of cam models are married or have exclusive partners, and very few have any interest in actually meeting viewers offline.

PLEASE, bring me more SM traffic. I will dance my merry dance of tits.

I've yet to have anything 'negative' happen because of these commercials. It's still life as usual!

I do agree that we shouldn't be listed as 'single', maybe just omit that part altogether. But I have no idea how to world of advertising works with cam models. Maybe 'single' is a trigger word that drives traffic? I dunno. I got asked even before these commercials, so meh.

The more traffic the better. Hahaha. It is already crazy with traffic, more will make me even happier.

You are going to get asked either way if you are single/will meet up/escort. You get it all the time on MFC and there is no commercials lol

It's an advertisement meant to be as provocative and suggestive as legally possible. I don't think they crossed the line at all. People will think whatever they want with ads like those. Why do you think penis enlargement pills are a multi-million dollar business. :lol: There was a guy on MFC the other night that thought all the Russian CGs were mail order brides, stating he wished he could afford a certain one. :woops:

Actually I saw LiveJasmin advertises with phrases such as "meet your perfect match" etc too

Well I think there is no question as to the misleading manor of the advertisements, (well the first one). But I see it as being only a good thing for the sites models, (if you can accept the ppl you work for are manipulating scum bags). There are going to be a bunch of ppl lured in that will leave thinking, "that's BS. Screw that place, you can't hook up there." There are also going to be a bunch who will stay accepting that, "OK well you can't meet them, but this isn't too bad." I don't see that it puts the models in any danger, unles you are talking about the danger of having some misogynistic, angry, worthless piece of flesh, being mean to the models, then ok... And that never happens at MFC. :lol: :lol: :lol:

The danger is that one nutter who sees the ad, gets angry at the models for not giving out contact info, and then proceeds to manipulate whatever to get her information and show up at her doorstep.

EDIT TO ADD: It's also rather annoying to have to say every once in awhile "If any of you thought you were going to a dating site, I'm sorry. I'm here for cybersex, not to meet up, and site rules state no exchanging of personal contact info. I have no control over the advertisements that brought you here, but you're in the wrong place."

(Pick and choose which pieces of course, since I don't say all that every time, but something along one of those lines)

Point taken that the unstable dude might be push over the edge to do what he would not before b/c now he's pissed.

And to the other, yes I agree. That was the working for scum bags reference - not real clear I guess. :)

I believe the original commercial was to just promote SM in general, however SM now offers TV as a form or broadcasting (maybe that what your asking about?). I have personally never done TV on SM but from what I gather its much like a gold show only guaranteed money based on what you normally average per gold show. If you normally make about $50 per show then on TV your goal would be around $150 ($50 in your pocket) guaranteed and anything that comes in after the goal is met is just bonus money.

I started a thread on this the other day because I am curious and may try TV soon.

But yeah that's what I was wondering. Just posted in wrong thread, haha I havent been on SM much so I haven't even got gold shows enabled. Will probably be awhile till I'd be able to do this TV thing :)

Sorry to revive a dead and sleeping thread but Streamate's advertising practices have been weighing on my mind lately.

It has gotten so bad with people PMing me at least once a day about meeting up that I now have a cut and paste response that says:

Dear sir,

Thank you for your inqury but the contract that I signed with Streamate limited specifically states that I am not allow to meet up with or share information outside of the site.

---

Of course they always respond back with, but bb! You totally can this is a dating site. :?

I've never even seen one of these ads on tv lol...also, who could think about this website and all the girls on cam with sex toys, and thousands of guys, for more than about 5 seconds before realising it's impossible, and also extremely improbable that it could be any kind of dating site.

I had never seen them either but they reminded me of these type of ads that I have seen;
:thumbleft:

one of the top comments on that streamate vid heh...
Anyone else laughing at the MFC models speaking poorly of Streamate? Personally, I'll take an "anal bb" guy over the drama of MFC any day ;)
