Sudden drop in traffic and earnings – possible shadowban?

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this because I’ve been experiencing a very drastic drop in both traffic and earnings on Chaturbate over the past weeks.

My room used to have consistent traffic and stable income, but recently it has changed dramatically. The number of viewers is significantly lower, my placement seems worse, and tips have dropped a lot as a result.

Nothing major has changed on my side — same schedule, same quality, same effort, same consistency. That’s why I’m starting to wonder if I might be shadowbanned or somehow deprioritized in the algorithm.

Has anyone else experienced something similar recently?
Is there anything specific I should check (settings, tags, placement, account status, etc.)?

Any advice or shared experience would really help.

I've noticed the same in my room recently. I've dropped to about half of my typical viewer count seemingly overnight, and it hasn't gone back to normal for about 6 weeks now.
However, I wouldn't attribute it to a 'shadow ban'. I believe it's caused by a change in the algorithm they use for page placement. I noticed that a lot of other streamers were bumped down around the same time, and others that were held down by the prior algorithm change, seem to soar again.

In my 4 years working on CB, they've made changes that majorly affect models' viewership about 6 times that I've noticed. It isn't uncommon for them to change the algorithm. Sometimes the change will benefit you, sometimes it will make it harder for you. Ultimately, if you really have made no other changes that could cause this, there really isn't much you can do other than to stay consistent and build a good base of regular customers to avoid a decline in income, until they switch the algorithm in your favor again.

The reason was the new algorithm that made most of us have worse positions last September / October 2025.

Another factor was the rooms with fake viewer bots that took positions on page 1 and thus pushed many other models down to page 2. But looks like this problem has just been resolved. I myself finally saw 300 more viewers yesterday and things look like they were back in December for me again now.
