Just noticed the new stuff popping up on the forums... like:

Thanks
Gratitudes
and Toplist...

can't wait to see what these do!!!

Been hoping for this for awhile. Rock on. :thumbleft:

We're still making adjustments to stuffs, so don't get too comfy yet. :)

It's basically a cred system. If you see a posted reply you like, you give it a thumbs up (in this case a "thank"). Most other forums have this feature, even a dislike for a post you don't like, but that would just piss people off and cause shit-storms here. :tongue3:

Less shit-storms is always better. We're making visual changes to the forum at the moment as well, so that's what I was referring too by saying we're still workin. ;)

I'll make sure to make a detailed post when everything's complete.

I like the new logo too :)
Noticing any other changes yet?

Looks like we're still going to be tinkering with the Thanks system for a while to get all the pieces to the puzzle working right and looking good. But here's the scoop so far:

You can thank a person 1 time for an individual post. Thanks should be given if the post was helpful or otherwise a positive influence on you or the subject of the thread. You cannot remove a Thank, so Thank carefully. ;)

At the top right of the page, you'll see a Gratitudes link. It lists the people who have sent and received thanks. We are going to work on that page to make it look nicer and be more functional soon, so that's just a rough draft for now. Ultimately we'd like a list of the most helpful posts, decided by number of thanks, on either that page or a separate one in the near future.

Any post within a Global Announcement thread cannot be thanked. It's a known issue and something we'll try to figure out how to fix, but leaving it as-is for now. The Thank button still shows in those threads, but returns an "Invalid thank: Cannot thank posts within a global annoucement" error if you click it.

I want to make this the most thanked post in the history of thanked posts. It's just the way my mind works.

I like all of it. :D
The new colors are much more suitable against curious questions what i am looking at in the internet from my nosy family members.

I always used to say Donkey porn. Try to give it a Hugh Laurie "House-esque" nonchalance ;) They never believed me and stopped asking...

No, I never looking at Donkey porn...I didn't want to feel inadequate.

I previously had a wife-friendly theme that was completely grey. Now I'm back to purple and yellow and stuff. Poo.

Wouldn't "man mode" work in this case? It's really...green.

Oh man they also put the names of people that thank you underneath? Sounds like i'll be making a list and showing favoritism accordingly.

Did you miss my update to the "how to" forum about "how to" switch to a manlier version? :woops:

Derp, didn't see a man-mode got added. Okay so now I'm back to puke green and yellow.

Here's one thing that broke: visited links no longer appear in a different color than un-visited links. Regardless of theme.

I can't recall if that actually was a feature in the old themes other than the default one you may have had. I'll think about this one but for now I will call it "working as intended."

The yellow is more like a light beige/sand color btw. And hunter/forest green.

(I'll just go ahead and imagine that you gave me and Jawbs a pat on the back for the Sunday afternoon and evening we spent working on the forum and ignore that you jumped right to the shit pickin.)

It's constructive criticism. "Puke" and "Poo" are friendly terms, amirite?

In certain circles, I'd have to agree.

Since we are so friendly, I forget sometimes that your first job is to troll, and maybe secondly or thirdly to be friendly with me. :handgestures-salute:

I'd have never noticed - why, because I'm male and that's how we are :woops:

Since when have men ever read instructions for information :p
