To be honest , i have no idea what you're talking about 
in broadcaster chat ? in user chat ?
If it's in user user chat you're probably in theater mode.
disable it by clicking the small rectangle in the bottom right corner of the video (default view).
( it may be under the DM button)

Thank you sooooooooooo much!!! Took several minutes to figure out "theatre" mode - viewing is now better!To be honest , i have no idea what you're talking about
