Someone told me we had a thread for this but i cannot find it. This is copied from a post on my blog http://misslollipoptumbles.tumblr.com/
Recently there’s been a bunch of controversy over some ‘bad’ promoters.
this post will give you more information on how to avoid scammy or sleezy promoters.
A good promoter is:
-Usually in this for profit, which he or she usually makes through affiliate marketing and advertising. Occasionally they may ask for a small cash payment for special featured services. These will be listed on their site, they won’t go chasing you to sign up for it.
-Promoters are not an INSTANT source of extra revenue for models. What they can help do is build up your exposure so that more people see you, follow you, and ultimately hopefully bring you more paying members and fans.
It is normal for promoters to require a fansign or even a teaser fan video type of thing. This is so that you can BOTH share in the promotion. You are lending your name/brand to make them more popular, and they are promoting you in return.
-Unless you are receiving payment from a site or promoter you should never need to give out your legal information to them. If you are receiving payment, make sure that you read the fine print and that it includes protection of your personal information. just because someone sets up a website and calls themselves a promoter does not mean they are trustworthy!
I also want to stress that talking to other camgirls, making strong connections with them and promoting each other is often our best source of promotion. Some girls feel uncomfy doing this because it seems like ‘supporting’ competition. I promise it’s not. We can achieve much more hype, and encourage more members to join sites as a ‘group’ that supports each other than we can on our own. There are more than enough paying members to go around.
Here’s a list of trustworthy promoters! It’s SHORT right now because I need more names! Please ADD names!! Ill update the list with any names added to the list. You can also contact me privately and I'll add them.
PROMOTERS:
@SexyLadyShow

http://www.sexyladyshow.com/
@BobsBestBoobs
http://bobsbestboobs.com/
@IHeartCamgirls
Other camgirl-services
these are not exactly ‘promoters’ but they do a lot to help camgirls or offer cam-related services
@MyPornProfile
-offers a profile, publicity, pay to tweet option and options to sell stuff on their site and get tips.
@camyourway
this site offers a free trial, and lets you use their software in your browser to track earnings, and statistics. It can be incredibly helpful tool - you can look up specific tip amounts, set date ranges, see total tokens tipped from members and compare over multiple sites. They also have excellent support.
