So I've been camming for a bit and things have been going surprisingly well.

However, I don't want to rest on my laurels and waste the chance I've been given, so i want to put more work in. Only problem is that I don't know where to start.

Do I stream more? Do I invest in better outfits and the like? Do I try to grow on social media, message my clients more, take more sexy nudes to create a worthwhile onlyfans/cb fanclub?

What is worth investing my time in?

I feel like a broken record sometimes, but I honestly believe making content is in pretty much everyone’s best interest when it comes to camming or online adult work in general.

It’s passive income once you upload it. It can increase your streaming income, especially on sites like MFC. It can bring in new members and regulars. And if you’re ever sick or need to take some time away from streaming, you can fall back on it.

As far as investing money into things, good lighting and sound is the best things to invest in, IMO. If you have those already and you’re doing well, I wouldn’t invest a ton of money into new clothes or lingerie if you already have what you need.

Nothing wrong with growing on social media, more traffic may lead to better bottom line earnings.. but not always. MFC models are a good example of this. I've seen many high ranking MFC models have only a few thousand twitter followers - sometimes not even more than 20k!
And as someone who has been in s4s telegram groups, I've personally seen people with less paying subscribers than me earning more than me. They are clearly doing something with their paying subscribers, likely custom content, sexting, and PPV.
+1 to better lighting and sound, they're so so important. I can still make a good living on my c920, both for clips and webcam, so prioritise those two things before the webcam/phone itself imo, unless they're really, really bad. I still haven't figured out budgeting yet, but going forward, I think I would be putting less than 5-10% of my earnings post-tax into new clothes and toys every month. You don't need a big wardrobe or a huge selection of toys to earn well.

You said it's going well, so experiment with what you have (like raising prices) and things you can offer to your supporters. There are some people who need to know you're offering before they ask you for it - sometimes just sending out a message saying you're open for customs can get people excited enough to order one!

creating content and setting up a stream of revanue I think is so important for when things go quiet on cam (it happens to everyone and it will happen when you arnt expecting it) so having content selling in the background can help with that, it's also nice to have if you end up pushing to hard and burn yourself out on cam and need to step back.

As for investing time, I am a big believer in investing time into learning skills. you can pivot pretty much all skills back to your adult work, and the more skills you have the more opportunities you give yourself to increase your earnings.

Thanks everyone, I'm definitely going to create more content, that's kinda where I get lazy (because I look so ugly in photos q.q).

@Marceline when you say content do you mean like sexy clips and videos (like bouncing on a dildo or seductive shots) to put on CB fan club (or should I do onlyfans?) or do you mean like trying to create niche content for pornhub and clip sites? - LOVE the DP btw (adventure time music is my favourite music - "everything stays" amirite??)

@KingMarti - when you say skills what do you mean? I'm thinking marketing, social media skills, personal branding, sex work specific books, and negotiating but are there other skills you think are useful? - I love your posts and the vibe i've seen in your replies around the site :)

@KMH - what are S4S telegram groups? And how do I find retweet groups on Twitter? - Also wanted to say you've replied to a lot of the questions I have on here and I appreciate you helping out a newbie. Hopefully one day I can return the favour!

It can be whatever sort of content you like to make! Sexy, vanilla clips like masturbation, dildo play, teasing or dancing does very well for some people and if that’s what you normally do in your room that could definitely work. Or you could do more niche and fetish type clips. For me, vanilla type stuff never really sold. I’d have a handful of my regulars on MFC buy them and that’s it. Fetish/niche/taboo stuff works much, much better for me. But, everyone is different and what doesn’t work for one person can be another person’s bread and butter!

I can’t really comment on fan club or paid membership type stuff, since I don’t do that. But, clip sites are definitely a good way to go. You can upload the same video to all your clip sites and once it’s there it’s just passive income you’re making whenever your content sells, which is always nice.

And thanks! I love Adventure Time and the music!

It can be anything, like litrally anything that takes your interest can be usful. Graphic design, web development, programing, video editing, VFX, music, marketing, photography, photo editing.

One thing with marketing is you are not really going to a find a "this is how to do marketing" course, because different things will work for different people, the only way to find what works for you is testing. They will generally focus more around buyer phycology and case studies. Best way to learn imo is look at the case studies to get an idea of what works and why, then acctually run them and build your own case study. Collecting as much data as possible means you can track what individual changes did. There are a lot of subsectors of marketing too, my advice would be to find one and focus on that (trying to learn the whole marketing subject at once get's you nowhere fast) just learn an individual skill within marketing until you feel like you have it down and then move on to the next.

eg/ right now I am learning how to do SEO the right way (as in to follow googles guidelines and not do the shady stuff that ends with you getting delisted), for me this works out great because as I am learning it I am also setting up an additional income stream since I had to set up a new site to be able to put what I was learning into practice to gauge how well I was understanding things. When I feel that understanding is good enough I can then apply that knowledge into my kingmarti site that has outbound links to my content.

https://edx.org/ has free courses on pretty much anything you can think of, the course quality is always good. If computer science interests you then Harvard's CS50 course is awesome, and the other specializations are pretty good too (theres one for web dev, game development and a couple others) but they all assume you to have taken cs50. They also have a couple of courses on nutrition that were pretty good. Most of the courses published are short term university prep courses, so little to no previous knowledge of the subject is needed and you get more than enough of a baseline to be able to take that and work out the things you dont know from there.

https://www.coursera.org/ is another one that offers a lot of courses for free.
If you wanted to learn something specific and not an overall subject then YouTube is proberly the best bet, or maybe skill share for something more complex.

If you want to learn a bunch of things pretty quickly then I would say the most important part to learn is the terminology that industry uses. That way you can search google pretty effectively for specific things that you are trying to work out.

Personally I dont use CB fan club anymore, I found that people will sub for 1 month download all the content and cancel, and I felt like the amount of content they were getting for their subscription wasn't a fair deal for me (at the time it was like $600 worth of videos they were getting for $10 and most of them since stopping the fan club now buy the videos individually), so instead I have my videos avalibule as single purchase items on cb.

If you are doing videos then MV would be another site that's worth looking at to sell them. I also wouldnt post the same content I am trying to sell on MV on onlyfans if you set that up for the same reason as the cb fan club. I know some people that do this and it works well for them, but their fan base is much larger than mine mine which could be why it's a viable option for them. A lot of it is going to be playing about trying to work out what works and feels best for you.

When it comes to content, I would say try everything that you are comfortable with. Upload it all, keep an eye on what type of content sells and then make more of that.

DP: but should have added, that's not an inclusive list. Litrally everything you learn can be related back in some way or another.

EDIT:

One thing I would recommend learning though, is where to find your affiliate links and start using those to promote the sites you are on, they can give a nice little boost to your earnings for not much effort. Revanue share is always going to be better long term than pay per signup. (not all sites offer affiliate links, cb does, some other sites you need to sign up through another platform to get an affiliate link).

@lilithvalentine s4s = shoutout4shoutout, basically you post each other on your profiles (usually for 24h). I've been away from telegram groups for a while, will dm you within a few days with some groups once I get back into it if you have a telegram. Ideally use a second phone (for work only) for things like telegram as they can connect you to anyone who has your number in your contacts. Be sure to switch this off if you make a telegram. There are also RT groups on telegram.

If you search for "onlyfans s4s" and "rt4rt" (retweet for retweet) on twitter, you can find some people, too.
There's also s4s subreddits, however I've not tried them, and they all seem to be kinda dead tbh.

If you s4s, be sure to ask for a FTL (free trial link) if their page is private. This is to be sure that they've held up their end of the deal. Some people will post, then delete for selfish reasons.
Also, send a link to the post featuring the other creator, and bookmark the other creator's post of you. I've done s4s a few tens of times, and ONE TIME onlyfans hid her post of me on her page despite refreshing, and she'd disappeared from my OF mentions, too :banghead: (screenrecorded that so she saw it after we cleared things up)

I thought she had dirty deleted, but it was actually an ill timed OF bug-of-the-week. I almost blocked her and removed her post from my page early, but decided to dm her saying how disappointed I was that she deleted my post, which ultimately led to her linking me to the post after some not-so-happy confusion. This could've been damaging to both of our reputations had that conversation never happened and if we'd called each other out publicly. A link cleared up the whole thing. Never seen that bug again but not risking it. Always link, always save the link.

So, for me personally. I did things assbackwards lol. I started with onlyfans. Promoting on reddit. - That did fairly well. Can say about 1k a month after 3 months of promoting daily on different subreddits. Then i had the great idea of streaming. because i started getting bored of onlyfans.

So when i started streaming on chaturbate. I didnt have any links. But now after 6 months or so of streaming. Ive added my onlyfans link and have gained over 20 new subs in a week.

Personally I would say start a onlyfans and post your exclusive content there. But thats just my personal opinion.

Onlyfans is the goal. Chaturbate is instant money but OF is your bread and butter

I find working Twitter 1-2 hours a day pays off.

I would actually say all of the above. I would never recommend relying on 1 site for your income.

1. Stream consistently. Just streaming consistently usually means more hours (not always.) I always tell models to keep a spreadsheet for each day of the month. Then you can track your income, your hours worked, and the time of day. Figure out what works best for your schedule and be online consistently and more often. Customers/fans/clients/investors ;) want to know when and where to find you.

2. When I first started, I spent 10% of my income back into camming for about 1.5 years. Just a clean cam area alone does wonders. Then I would upgrade your camera, lighting, RGB colored lights, phone for pictures, streaming computer, outfits, shoes, stockings, pantyhose, toys, personal care like hair cuts, hair coloring, hair waxing, botox/fillers, plastic surgery (if desired) etc. It'll all come together once you start working on it over time. First things first, get a 4K webcam like the Logitech Brio and a good quality 18in dimmable and temperature-controlled ring light.

3. Working on your social media is kind of mindless. A few minutes a day is all you need. Create a performer profile that correlates on the platforms you want to use to promote yourself. If the sites you cam on allows social media promo, of course! - mention it! Use your phone to make posts quickly and seamlessly. Always use the tools at your disposal to be more successful. However, social media is more IN ADDITION to streaming more. Usually fans follow you to social media. Rarely do I get customers finding me on social media then finding me on a paid platform.

4. Absolutely work your "power base." If a customer enjoyed you and paid you before, absolutely keep in touch with them. Promo pictures, notifying them of new content, asking them to hang out again - all wonderful great things you can do in 20-30 mins before, during, or after your scheduled online time.

5. Fan clubs are not my bread and butter. I have been doing this for almost 7 years. My OF has almost 1000 videos/pictures. I'd never suggest focusing your online time on a fan club. HOWEVER, every time you are online take several pictures and short videos. Before you know it, you'll have a decent amount of content to queue up your fan club once you are more established.

Long story short, what should you be doing to build your cam career and persona? BE ONLINE! BE ONLINE CONSISTENTLY. Then invest 10% of your income back into making your persona the best it can possibly be. 100%

I look really fucking ugly if I take pictures just with my iPhone's camera/vid app too. Bad lighting just makes it even more awful. 1) Take pictures in front of your ring light or in front of a sunny window. This link helps a lot: https://www.buzzfeed.com/kristinchirico/a-model-taught-us-how-to-not-suck-at-selfies-and-it-actually

2. There are AMAZING picture and video apps out there to make you look magically better. I like FaceApp and SnapChat/SnapCamera. SnapChat works for pictures and videos and you can just save them on your phone. SnapCamera is for your webcam. They are anti porn so I just take sexy clothed content using their apps.

Golden advice and should be bookmarked. Especially the spreadsheet aspect. Maximize your minutes.. 1st thru 5th, and 15th thru 20th, cam ur ass off ...thats when ppl get paid generally. Your mileage may vary.... During the slow periods of the month jump on at your best times, dont let cams control u .... you might not make a much money during them but if you gain a cpl hundred followers, a few of em may become steady tippers and thats what its about in the long run.

You get what you put in and u have to spend money to make money. I'm a hypocrite at this, i dont spend a ton.. but its tougher for women.. they have a lot more competition.
