Hi hi! New here, but long time lurker! I have been camming on sm for a couple of years, and figured it would be time to join this camming community!
 
Hello! I'm Aly. I've been camming super inconsistently for a few years & working on trying to be more consistent. I'm painfully introverted and shy but I'm trying to force myself to get out of my bubble and meet other girls in the industry. I work mainly on streamate and CMD for right now. Might try throwing CB into the mix but my sites now work out pretty well for me. Uhhhhhhhh. I don't know what else to write about myself other than the fact that I love animals, painting, photography & listening to podcasts and not leaving my house. :)

I quit my vanilla job to cam full time so I can make the money I deserve and live the life that I want.
i.e. an assload of traveling.
i.e. not constantly being controlled by money (or lack thereof).

Hi Aly! I love how you worded that! I can be quite shy, so starting a show is definitely challenging at best, but once it gets going, it's pretty rewarding. What's your fave part so far? I'm not on either sites, but I do use Chaturbate on occasion :)

Hey, thank you! I am doing alright. I have hit a wall when it comes to getting/keeping people in my room which is very frustrating. I am doing a lot of research to try and figure out the best approach and what it is that I could be doing wrong. I'm pretty sure it's my inconsistency and the limited amount of time I've been spending on cam.

What about you?

Hi Jenika! Haha yeah, I've used CB before a couple of times and I definitely have to agree with you there! My favorite part of camming is that I'm my own boss and the different people I've gotten to meet - they come from all walks of life. :)

Being a boss is rough sometimes lol I'm so good to me it hurts! I once read about a model who had a couple that would voyeur her and they ended up naming their first child after her. It blows my mind that these connections exist. Do you have any stories like that? They don't have to be that extreme lol I'm a bit of a nerd, so my number one hobby is asking questions.

I know exactly what that's like! My approach is to gain a following on another platform. My best crowds right now are Xvideos , Snapchat and Instagram. I'd say FB because of the number, but I can't stand it sometimes lol
I think, even when you're not on often, it's important to announce when you are. When I started there were minimal sites to choose from and studios "scamming" girls left and right, but people would be swarming your room. With so much talent today, it can be hard to put your face out there and actually be seen. I can't say what will work best for you, but maintain presence and make sure to put your name (or profile link) on all of your content. People will eventually search for you.
NEVER skip holidays. (Even just right before/after) The closer the holiday, the more people are likely to reward you.
Also, make sure you are in the mood for it. When I get on and I'm just not feeling it, everyone can tell and even though I took the time to look nice and even sprain my face smiling so much, it's not as appealing as when I'm super excited to broadcast.
If you'd like to share some tips you've found I'd love to hear them, as there is always room to learn something new :h:
 
So tonight will be my first night on streamate. I’m just a little curious on what I can expect to make on the first couple of weeks. I’ve done smaller sites like naked and cam soda but I know those are token sites and are a little bit different . Any one have an idea on what I should expect ?

Hi there,

I've been reading on and off here for the past two to three years but never had a good enough reason to sign up. So far, I've mostly ever watched cams, but I did do one show myself and even got offers for privates. That was fun.

The reason why I'll probably dig a bit deeper into this community - and thus signed up - is that my girlfriend is (hopefully) gonna start camming from home within the next couple of weeks. I got her a nice laptop and a cam as well as a mic, and we're both hopeful she'll be able to give her income a little boost. We'll see how that goes though.

About myself: Apart from watching cams on xH - which I don't actually do all that often anymore nowadays; however, I'm still interested in the business -, I spend my time working as a systems administrator for a government-funded basic research organization.
