I read an article where the mom said her son STILL trusts these girls. He thought the 15 year old was his girlfriend and spent a lot of money on her. She said they hung out in their house on snow days, and she had no idea what was going on.

When her son came home soaked in the water, he said he fell in the pond, but didn't mention that he was being forced to walk on it.

The mom had no idea. And that's so sad. She had no clue anything was wrong, because autistic people are impossible to figure out. They can have the worst thing happening to them, with a smile on their face. :( She said he has no idea to what extent he was abused, he says his friends were just messing around. It breaks my fucking heart.

I only know two autistic people. One is only 6 and might be misdiagnosed, only time will tell. He is my little third cousin - more like a nephew - and he really shows some signs of autism.

The other one is a door greeter at my Wal-Mart. He's been there for at least a decade (probably much longer). He's always SO happy to see you, no matter who you are, and if you ask him for something he will do it. Usually, this is just getting new sanitized wipes for the carts. I've seen people ask him to do embarrassing things though, and they laugh and snicker at him. He just thinks he made them laugh and laughs are a happy thing so he is happy.

Autistic people just blindly trust everyone. And it's sad to see people who betray that trust, not realizing how valuable it is, even if it is just from the door greeter at wal-mart. (By the way, my mom totally manages that Wal-Mart now, and I'm willing to bet he makes more than many many people on this forum... years of 100% performance reviews and the raise that goes along with it did him GOOD... I mean, he makes more than my MOM and she's the co-manager!!!!! Nevermind, I guess he makes more than her assistant managers. I just happen to have her on the phone right now lol)

We've already established the standard in another thread. They should obviously be let go Scott free since they aren't 18 yet.

Heck, making a kid have sex with a pet and get wet by walking across a pond? That doesn't even come close to killing four people. This is pretty much a non-event.

Kids are bullies. And yeah, they should be punished, but since they're not 18, they probably won't get much in the way of reprimanding (unless it's from their parents).

I have a question, though. Is the picture of the 17yo altered or messed up? They use the same one in every article, but her eyes/nose/mouth area are skewed like a bad Photoshop job. I apologize if that's really how she looks, but if so, maybe she has some kind of disorder herself that causes her to not recognize good/bad. ??

They probably use that picture because every other Lauren Bush picture that comes up with search engines is of the former president's niece. Fun fact: She married Ralph Lauren's son and now goes by Lauren Bush Lauren.

The only disorder I can diagnose off her photo is that she wishes she hadn't gotten caught. That's not to say that she can't be a psychopath.

This is horrible. Poor boy and poor animal!

With situations like these you wonder what's happened to the girls to make them want to do things like this. Though you do get some people who are just simply sick, and kids can be cruel and do some really cruel/sick things but these girls aren't children. They're old enough that they should have got out of that phase. I know that girls can do some really horrific things, but girls tend to not naturally do these things, rather they do them when they've become very messed up/have suffered abuse.
Maybe they are just sick individuals, but it does make you question whether anything similar has gone on in their home life, especially with the older girl who seems like the instigator.

Kids do occasionally do some seriously sick/scary things. The average child is capable of abusing other children, most, possibly all children at one point in their lives bully another child (even if they don't think they have), sometimes in some pretty sick ways, like things that if adults did to each other they might suffer jail time. But occasionally you hear of some really really fucked up stories. This is one of them.

The worst one I've heard of I think is the two 10 year old boys who abducted, tortured, sexually abused and murdered a two year old boy. If anyone fancies having a moment of utter "urgh" I'll leave the wiki article here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_James_Bulger

The horrible thing about that one is that once the children became adults they were released, put into the witness protection program and given complete new identities. Now maybe they are suitable for society, maybe they've dealt with their issues, I don't know, but if you're so messed up in the head even at the age of 10 that you're willing to do something like that, are you really going to be safe for society 8 years later? It'd be interesting to learn about the psychology of these things, if children who commit crimes do them because they're being subjected to abuse or if they come up with it on their own.
