Just my 2c worth, but like any venture, you'd need to have a clear business plan and offer something unique or at least different, that would make people want to be a part of it.
Otherwise you'd just be going head-to-head with established businesses and hoping that you could build and maintain a market share without the novelty wearing off.

You say run your own business as models don't already run their own business, I mean it might use other platforms to achieve it but it's a business, is not like we're employees.

Or maybe your question is not directed to models, in which case I think rod's line of thinking sums it well.
