Lame title, but the idea is simple. There are some fucking SERIOUSLY talented people out there...and Youtube is a platform by which they can let others enjoy what they do - but also means you can share it with others too :D

So if you know/come across amateurs rather than known recording artists etc, post it up - can be any subject matter, anything at all - just people who make you go "omg".

So to start, a pianist who started posting videos of herself playing some music. She's now posted hundreds, and she is incredible (imo)...I've even paid to receive transcriptions (sheet music) of some of my favourites from her :D

I think this is the best intro to her talent, it's a song I'd never expect to hear played on piano - yet when I did it was a PROPER jaw drop moment :) (the clock on her computer is to show it's not sped up).

Enjoy :D

Other favs are "Outside" (Staind), "Dust in the wind" (Kansas), "Comfortable Numb" (Pink Floyd) and "Black gives way to Blue" (Alice in Chains).

p.s (Just post one person at a time, and contribute whenever you find something interesting!) :)

great idea!

I hope you don't be cross if i bent your rules a bit.
The following artist is a friend of mine and because he got to the finale of the german superstar-show he is now not an amateur anymore but works in circus and variety shows.
But i think it is a not very wide known artist and you may enjoy his show with glas balls.
It is called contact jonglage and is mostly known due to its use in the movie "Labyrinth" with David Bowie.

Heck no, that's awesome as it's so unusual! I just don't want Lady Gaga or *insert other widely known recording artist here* videos to populate it :D The more amateur they are though, the better :)

p.s. I remember watching a "behind the scenes" of the Labyrinth, and they showed that move with the ball - still left me scratching my head :D

For a double post (whoops) - amateur musicians from Colorado who started with covers (and plenty of talented friends who play instruments) and look to have plenty of fun when playing/recording/sharing.

Essentially the old fashioned way was to perform lots of gigs for years in a local area, until you manage to gain a large enough following to transition into mainstream and secure a contract. Modern day seems to be to start on Youtube, get 100,000's of followers and then...

Random quote from the guy 'I diddn't like my existing bandsaw, so here's one I made out of wood'

That's really cool, like....slightly superfluous but at the same time incredibly inventive.

My grandpa was a woodworker, wish he could have seen that he would have got a kick out of it

seems to running in guitar heroes... In this case a french heroine named Juliette Valduriez.

The first vid starts to get interesting after 34 seconds.
The others show her skills right from the beginning...

Lost Paradise

Bark At The Moon – Ozzy Osbourne
