I know that this site mentions "cam girls" but it seemed like the best place to go, and I was wondering if this forum is really just for any webcam models or specifically for cam girls? I say this because I am male, and was interested in looking into becoming a webcam model but wanted to find out more information first.

Basically, I do enjoy using toys and anal play, but I am straight. I am just not attracted to men, though I realise if I did become a webcam model it might be mostly gay men that checked out my cam. I assume that men do not make as much money as girls or get as much traffic, but I could be wrong. I wasn't sure if there was a market for straight men at all, or what exactly I could expect.

On the other hand, I am currently in a relationship, and thought about doing a couples webcam show. I assume these are more popular/could make more money than a single male? However I am not sure if she would be as comfortable doing that.

Also, which sites would be good for modeling? I have found mixed reviews when I looked this up.

I am basically just trying to find out if this would be worth looking into further. I do love the idea of being a webcam model but I would need it to be practical too.

this forum is just for females. My boyfriend is a full time cam model (his only job) and cams primarily with me but does cam solo on Chaturbate (he is straight and isn't into anal play and does pretty well solo) - Probably the best site for males IMO. I know cam4 has a male section and so doesn't Kinklive. You would do better as a couple especially on Chaturbate. I know cam4 has lots of free loaders and beggers- Much more than Chaturbate. Good luck! And yes females make more its just always going to happen especially with sites like MFC.

What would you say about livejasmin? I don't really know anything about these sites from the model's side of things.

I suggest reading up on the sites on camgirlwiki.com -- not sure if there's a page on LiveJasmin but you could read about Chaturbate & Streamate for sure which both allow male models.

Thank you, that should be very helpful :)

There's a good article I re-posted on my blog "The Camgirl Report" about cam modeling for the straight male. You can find it in the "Just for Men" section. I'd post the link, but my kids are hovering around me at the moment, so I don't want to pull up the page and risk them seeing something they shouldn't.

I can say from personal website exp is that men are willing to spend way much more money on men than hetero men on women (weather they be playing the straight or bi card)

I mean tons.

So to borrow a 12 step phrase, fake it till you make it.

This kind of confused me - you're saying men will spend more money on men than women, as in male cam models can expect to earn more than female cam models? Or am I reading that wrong?

There are fewer paying customers for camboys than for camgirls, but the ones who do pay are generally willing to pay a lot more. So there are fewer successful camboys than camgirls, but the one ones who ARE successful have the potential to be EXTREMELY successful.

what I mean is gay men have much more disposable income than hetero men. Every gay site I have owned has made 2x more than a comparable hetero site i have owned.

I didn't make these rules, they just are

Just a random thought I had. How does webcam modeling work when it comes to filing taxes? I know not to put any personal information on my webcam page etc., but I was wondering if any companies would ever do a background check (If I were to apply for a job somewhere for example), and would me filing this in my taxes show up in that?

that depends on which country you live in.

I cannot speak for US but here it's sufficient to just put some 'self-employed' or 'entertainer' for taxes.
íf someone will ask you can always say you did pub quizes or online guitar lessons.

If you are making a resume and you've been camming from 18 to 28 to whomever sees it it's gonna look weird that what you are aiming for would only be your 2nd job (esp if it was not something like online guitar lessons of pub quizzes) in a totally diff field.

I know some employers (govt) will look deep into the past, even at your credit rating.

The best case scenario is as early on as possible is create an llc with an ambiguous name that implies nothing about the actual nature of the work and get an irs tax id number and report that income. Even your gifts from your wishlist like a 60in flatscreen from your fave whale is considered income

Thank you, I think I did see the self-employed thing mentioned somewhere

Also, I had another question. This applies to any webcam model and I did do a quick search on the site before posting this. Basically I was just wondering how safe it is to show your face on cam. For example, say you provide no personal information on your profile, no location or name or anything to identify you, would showing your face on cam be safe? First of all I am aware that most webcam models do show their face and it would be difficult to be successful without doing so. Also I saw that on chaturbate (and probably other sites as well) you can block certain states from viewing you. I am actually not too concerned about people I know seeing me because of this feature, but I was just wondering if showing your face poses any other safety concern if you have provided no personal information (to the public, I know you have to provide it to the website). Even if somebody saw your webcam or something, they couldn't technically prove it was you without getting that information from the website employees, right?

The reason I say this is because I mentioned doing a couples show before with my partner (female) but I am not sure if she wants to show her face at all, but I think if we don't show our faces it may not be worth bothering. I would need to find out more details so we could decide whether we want to do this or not (whether showing our faces would be an issue or not).

I'd try wearing a mask, you know like those zorro ones (i'm being serious btw) it's a common practice

I had thought of the mask thing, but not really as a serious idea, I didn't think people actually did that. And I realize we will probably need to show our faces to be successful, but I just wanted to get some more info about it first.

if your angle is to become pornstars then yeah, you gotta show your face. If you just don't want locals recognizing you at the local library then wear a mask
