Hi,
I’d like to experts opinion on what happened to me this week.

Last week I reached out to a model on Clips4sale about a custom clip. I told her want I wanted and she had no problem with it. We agreed to $800 for the clip, which I thought was a fair price given length.

Her studio has hundreds of clips and lots of customs so I figured she’s good. I paid her last Wednesday morning and she thanked me for payment. She told she was going to film it on Friday. She said I could expect my clip Friday night or Saturday at the latest depending on how busy/tired she was. I told her no problem, there wasn’t a rush on my end. That’s the last I heard from her.

Friday/Saturday/Sunday came and I didn’t hear anything from her. I sent a very polite email on Monday morning asking about the status of the clip. No response. I sent a second polite email Thursday night and no response.

I don’t care that I don’t have the clip right now. There was no rush to do this. If she emailed me and said anything ranging from “my camera broke” to “my mom is sick” to “I’m sick” I would have been totally cool with that.

What concerns me is it’s been 10 days since I’ve heard anything from her and a week since I was supposed to have the clip done. I noticed her studio hasn’t been updated.

So did I get scammed? Are these things common in custom/Clips4Sale universe?

Is there anything I can do beyond see if my credit card will reverse the charges? Would Clips4Sale care or is it a waste of time notifying them?

Any thoughts/help would be appreciated

3-4 weeks is actually standard custom clip delivery. However if the timeline was stated in the purchase description, you do have the right to contact the site and ask for a refund since the service terms were violated.

I am pretty sure she got holidays now, we are celebrating easter so half of cam models are away for time with their family or just parties out of town ...guess after5 of may u might hear about her again :)

I agree. That’s been my experience with custom clips as well. I was surprised when she told me I’d have it in two days. I was open to it take longer but she is the one who pledged to have it done by Friday. If she told me 3-4 weeks, I wouldn’t have had a problem with that at all.

But Clips4Sale is just the platform for models to post their clips. You negotiate the actual clip with the model. I paid through $CashApp not Clips4Sale. They didn’t handle the transaction.

Paying offsite is always a risk. There’s nothing C4S can do about it. Even if you had paid through tributes on C4S, they still wouldn’t have done anything about it.

Unless things have changed and I just missed the update, C4S does not allow models to accept custom payments through tributes. If a model is caught doing this, she could get in trouble. Tributes are meant just as that, a tribute or a tip not a business transaction, and C4S does not refund them. And, that’s the only way for models to get money on the site, aside from regular sales.

I’d say wait a little while, and if she completely ghosts you then try escalating the situation to get your money back. But fair warning, I don’t think CashApp is adult work friendly, so if you dispute it through them, it could result in both of your accounts being banned. If you go through your bank to dispute it, you may still end up being banned from using CashApp.

From here on out, if you gets customs, use a site that has an escrow system. ManyVids and iWantClips both have an escrow system in place for custom video services. That way, you know that you won’t lose your money if the video isn’t delivered. Honestly, the escrow system is the safest thing for both models and members to use.

This 100%.

Someone on MFC last night was telling me "Well if I pay you via Cash App, you'll get all of the money." I told him that Cash App isn't adult friendly, and he should just stick to tipping me on MFC (My camscore needs a serious boost and needs the tokens). Cash App is more for like when my aunt wants to send me money for my birthday.

I have used both ManyVids' and IWantClips' custom video escrow system, which I think is great...and I highly recommend that Riddler starts going that route when paying for custom videos. Especially since, with custom videos, we're not just talking about a measly $5. I know y'all pay good money for these customs. I hope you hear back from the model soon, Riddler.

So I mean I use cash app for payments (at my own risk I know)

I would immediately request a refund. And go to your bank. She gave you a definite timeline and has gone completely non responsive. The turn around time she promised is very quick but she was clear about it so.. $800 is a LOT of $$$ . I'd send one last message telling her you need her to get in contact, even if it's not done yet because otherwise you will pursue a refund.

You might indeed lose your account but.. I mean I dunno that's a chunk of change.

She was the one who suggested either $CashApp or PayPal’s friends and family for payment. I’ve used ManyVids payment system in the past.

The whole thing is very frustrating. She has a ton of custom videos on her page. Now I’m wondering if any of them were custom videos.
Since I emailed her last night I’ll give her until tomorrow to respond and then start pushing for a refund.

its not recommended to use those payment options since using their services to purchase or sell pornography is against their TOS. i only use my cashapp with regulars i have a pretty good relationship with. if you want to use them in the future, only do it with models you trust.

hope she delivers on your video soon or refunds you. if you do need to get your bank involved in getting a refund, make sure all money is out of your ewallet. that way if your cash app account is closed, you won't lose any money.

The one thing I haven’t heard in these posts is that I should be more patient or give her more time.
Honestly, if it is a scam I am surprised she hasn’t been caught by now, but whatever

In these posts? You actually got a mix of "wait a little while" and "take immediate action". I was one of the people who said give it a little time, because disputing charges like this can be exhausting and you may end up facing some repercussions, such as being banned from using CashApp. And, considering that she hasn't posted any new videos to her C4S Store, there's a chance that something came up in her personal life that has made it hard for her to work. If she was posting other stuff, then I would say that maybe you got scammed, but I don't think it's totally clear that that's what is happening.

If you paid extra to have your video delivered that fast, then if/when she gets back to you, definitely bring that up and try to work out something. Whether that be her refunding you for that amount or sending other videos or whatever. But, it seems like you paid the $800 based on the length and not on a faster delivery, so that's another reason why I say maybe wait. Although, it is shitty to promise something by a certain date and fail to deliver on time then not keep the person up to date.

In the end, it's up to you what you want to do. Wait or start trying to dispute the charges now. Hopefully everything works out!

She uploaded two new clips to her site today at 5, though they weren’t new clips but rather old clips in different formats.

Either way, I guess I got scammed. I’ll work on getting the money neck if I can. I also notify C4S. I know they can’t do anything but I’m hoping they’d at least like to be put on notice one of their models is out there scamming customers.

it’s a shame. I didn’t have to be like this. I guess some people are just awful.

Models can schedule when clips release ahead of time. There’s no way of telling if she uploaded and posted it today or if she uploaded it awhile back and just scheduled it to be posted today, but it is possible she is still away and considering it’s old videos in different formats, I’d say that’s a good possibility.

Not trying to side with her, because if she really did scam you that’s fucked. Just trying to give you, and anyone who comes here with similar issues, another perspective.

That’s good to know. I didn’t know you could schedule a post a head of time. Thank you for letting me know.

The quote feature screwed me up. Her suggesting PayPal is probably worse than suggesting Cash App. Lol. Many of us are telling these other guys "NO" to PayPal, and they're like "Oh. Other models let me use PayPal with them." Yeah, but they shouldn't. Lol.

In the future, protect yourself by using the escrow system like I said before. ManyVids, IWantClips, and ExtraLunchMoney are the sites I know of that have it.

It would be good if the next model you want a custom video from was a model you already know pretty well and trust. Because then (if she isn't on one of those sites with the escrow system) you could just tip her the amount she wants, and feel confident that she will deliver.

$800 is A LOT of money. For some people that's rent money. I'm curious to know how this turns out. Good luck.

Just a quick update for everyone. The weekend ended and I didn’t hear anything from her.

A friend of mine on a fetish message board graciously agreed to email her posing as someone interested in a custom. He emailed her Friday night. She wrote back to him with a price quote this morning.

I also double checked her emails to make sure I didn’t misunderstand something. But she makes it clear in an email that the clip would be ready by Saturday.

Since she replied to my friend, I think it’s safe to say I was scammed. I’ll contact CashApp and my bank and see if there is anything I can do to get the money back.

It’s a shame. It shouldn’t be like this.

Is there a point in notifying Clips4sale? I don’t expect them to do anything, but I feel like they should be on alert this model is scamming people.

Clips4sale doesn't have an approved way for us to be doing customs at all and they do not provide a way to take payment for them (which a lot of us have requested but they have refused for years) , so they likely won't do anything.

This annoys me so much. I take pride in my customs and always keep contact with my customers if I'm even a day late. Also I don't take payment with any nonadult payment processor.

Sorry to hear you got taken for that amount of money, its ridiculous someone would do that. I'm puzzled why she would suddenly start doing that though since that she has other customs on her c4s.

I'm hoping maybe she is still working on it and maybe she just didn't get it finished editing and to you yet? I know personally I just delivered a clip that took me way longer than expected (although I was sure to communicate with my customer).

I am wondering the same thing. Her store has close to 500 clips and more than half of them are customs. Did she just film them herself and say they were customs? But that makes no sense. Is she scamming some people and not others? No idea.

I am also holding out hope that something just got mixed up somewhere and I’ll still get the clip. I doubt it though. She’s ignored three of my emails while responding to other requests for customs.

What is a shame is that this tarnishes all the good hard working models who would never rip off their customers.

In my opinion $800 is a lot for a custom clip but you high rollers may disagree. It's an amount totally worth scamming someone for.

I guess if you want to turn your whole business into a dumpster fire and ruin your reputation. That will only work once.

A huge portion of my business is repeat customers who order custom videos.

@Riddler I'm sorry to hear things turned out that way. Hopefully you end up getting the custom since it doesn't seem like you can get your money back.

It depends on the length and content. If it's an hour long clip, which isn't common but also not unheard of, $800 is a fair price. I charge $12 per minute (and will probably be raising my prices soon) so for an hour that's $720. If it's an exclusive an extra $150. If it's something difficult to film, or requires more time to prepare or set up or clean up after, that's another fee. So, it can actually be pretty easy to get that high if one was so inclined.

Some models may also charge a really high fee to do something that they don't particularly like doing, like anal, on top of their normal per minute fee.

Is her reputation ruined, though? Who am I going to tell? Clips4Sale didn’t arrange it so there is no reason to complain to them. It’s not like I’m going to advertise that I got ripped off or who did it. I told one friend in a fetish chat room, who probably won’t order from her anyway.
So she can easily get away with it. Because who is going to complain?

@melanieoncam - you make a good point. If this clip was good, I would have ordered more. By scamming me out of $800 she screwed herself out of more lucrative purchases from me.
