I wish I could tell my viewers, in a mature and adult way, that I am on cam but also on my period and I am not going to be tolerable to a lot of shenanigans like I normally will be. Of course, I could not get on cam and just rest but all you see is dolla dolla bills going to someone else while laying there miserable and wishing you could take hormonal birth control or get a uterine hysterectomy so the issue becomes a nonissue. Sorry if this was TMI, but it is a large part of our lives and something that interferes with energy levels and emotional stability.

I finally realized that when I am sick and tired of hearing men's opinions, I'm probably going to start within the next 48 hours.
Members should really be more considerate with models on their period. I totally agree. Again, the model I visit is open with me about such things so it's not a problem. We like to mix it up in pvt anyway so it's no hardship to opt for something best suited to that situation at that time. And I'm not trying to come across as some kind of super considerate member here. I'd like to think most members who regularly visit the same model all the time would be equally considerate with the model they visit. It's just common decency.

And this will no doubt sound weirder than it's meant to, but when you visit the same model all the time, you get to know the timing of things - both business related things like cutoff dates and also personal things. If you don't cut the model a bit of slack around those times then you are a dick.

Nice to know you pay attention to those things. I finally exploded on Twitter, "I'm a total bitch beginning on the 14th of every month, do NOT judge me or take it personally it is literally my hormones telling me very bad things and giving me misinformation."

In the past when it wasn't so hush hush I'd throw it out in chat and guys would be all "gross," and leave. LOL

I think a lot of this comes back to your original question about whether we want to have conversations with models.

I can only speak for myself but the best part of the cam experience is the mundane chat about all manner of things - personal stuff, current worries, movies, the cities we live in, pets etc etc. That is the beautiful kind of interaction that camming gives you that porn doesn't.

Yes, I like to get horny and talk dirty in private, same as you would when having sex in real life but the real connections happen with that mundane information that you exchange.

That's how you grow to care for and respect a person and know how to treat them well. In amongst that mundane chat you learn about the things that worry them, the things to be careful around, the times that you should offer support etc etc. And it's not all one way either. I'm regularly on the receiving end of that kind of care and attention, and it feels good.

About members being mindful of payout schedules, I understand if someone specifically asks how how/if they can be more helpful, but I personally don’t think it’s a member’s job or responsibility to be mindful of that sort of stuff.

It’s certainly very nice, but in the end members shouldn’t have to accommodate their horniness/schedule privates/tip/etc according to when it’s most beneficial for the model. I just feel like that will ultimately lead to less fun for the member and will also lead to them ultimately finding a new model to frequent if they feel like they can’t just tip or do privates when they want to. Just my two cents.

Also, question for the thread:

If you’re typically into vanilla or solo content, would it bother you to see your favorite model post very niche/taboo content or b/g content, to the point where you might not want to get any of their content anymore?

I also think that if more guys spent more time talking to models instead of just barging into a room unannounced with "fuck ass bb?" then they might actually be a bit less abusive in private shows as well. I know a lot of guys are wired wrong and would still behave like that anyway, but if building a stronger connection with a model prevented even a handful of guys acting like fucked up sex beasts in private then it would still be a benefit.

In my case she didn't ask. I just noticed that she was spending more time up dancing and less time talking one night and asked why. She explained that at 7pm that night it closed. She's never pressured me to do anything at all, never mind on a given day or time. I've always been the one to approach the subject since that day I learned it was a thing. I mean, she'll have an opinion and a preference but she won't mention it unless I bring it up.

Do you (honestly) care about the political stuff going on around online sex work (payment processor bans, category restrictions, laws about porn)?
I do and I vote that way. But a part of this is that I am very sensitive to anti-trans legislation as the parent of a trans son. The overall “portfolio” of anti-trans, anti-LGBT, anti-woman, etc legislation is usually linked

I should come clean and say that it isn't all entirely altruistic on my part. We've developed what I could only describe as a bit of a platonic but feisty kind of relationship in the sense that we can have little disagreements and spats now and again. I've no desire to say something totally insensitive, get deservedly eviscerated, and then spend a few days trying to put it right. So I pay attention for that reason too.

It's a dance. I try to check myself just as much. "Did he really mean it that way or are my panties bunched up in my butt?" Sometimes it's both, sometimes it's neither.

Humans. How we ever made it this far is astounding to me.

I think we made it this far because (very) occasionally we do stop throwing bombs over the wall at each other and actually listen.

Ok, let's add another one.

Fan appreciation -- fan signs, tags in chat by their name, names in bios, high tipper screen shots in bio...yay, nah, or meh?

Do you mean members who change their name to something including the model's name? I find that shit a bit creepy to be honest.

Yes, because I understand there are people in positions of power who would go to extreme lengths if left unchecked. It disgusts me. I vote accordingly.

Also, the payment processor issue can have a small impact on cam site members also, if changes were made. For example, if my card is suddenly declined and flagged for a type of purchase that they don’t agree with, now we’re talking about potentially impacting my credit considerations for future agreements, etc. Even if a member is oblivious to the business side of camming, a payment processor ban is something members should also watch out for, IMO.

Funny you should ask. This exact thing happened to me in the last two weeks.

I’m fairly vanilla in my tastes, and saw one of my longtime favorites doing some extreme stuff (certainly extreme by my tastes, and I’d even describe it as disturbing). Borderline ban-worthy stuff on most platforms. It made me a little sick to my stomach.

It’s the kind of thing I can’t really forget I saw. While I don’t hold it against the model at all (her business, her choice to do such things), it was a huge personal turn-off.

And it was so drastically different from what I’ve paid her for for years (in her case, I’ve been her top tipper consistently for almost 4 years now) that it makes me wonder if she considers my usual shows to be either 1) a relief from that type of extreme show, or 2) a total bore to her, if she’s actually into what I saw. I’ll visit and tip again, but yeah, honestly, it changed things for me.

No, that's a very specific um...let's call it a manipulation of the affiliate program on Chaturbate. Can't speak for other sites and the motivation there.

I'm talking about highlighting high tippers in the ways I described. :)

Not the same thing but the model I visit has a new member who comes and tips for a fairly innocuous fetish involving her wearing something. Thing is that he tips for her to wear it for a very long time and it's not something I am into and it's not just something standard. It doesn't disgust me but it's happened a couple of times now, right across the period where I am also looking to tip for things and I end up unable to tip for it at that time because I just don't get off on her performing for me while wearing the things he wants her to wear.

Be interesting to get a model perspective on where one member's niche fetish interferes with other members enjoyment.

I would ask that person to take me private if it was something I felt absolutely no one else was interested in seeing or waiting around for him to leave. If you're close enough to her, discuss it with her.

Yes, absolutely! Particularly in regard to how it directly affects my friend, as I genuinely care about her. In a more general sense, just reading this forum has given me a new appreciation for models and their problems. Having an understanding of the issues you have mentioned is not only interesting to me in a general sense, but also helps me to be more empathetic, hopefully allowing me to be both a better member and person.

In the chat, during the show, I don’t care one way or another. It neither bothers me, nor excites me.

In the bio or elsewhere (social media posts with screenshots of tips, etc), I’d rather not have my username included in those places. For the model’s bio page in particular, those can often cause the model’s cam page to show up in Google searches for my username, which is not the end of the world, but… I’d rather not.

I am not really a content buyer, but I do not think it would bother me. I just would not buy the content that did not appeal to me.

Perhaps in a related situation, where a favourite model changed her *stream* content (e.g. was sexy / naked but never explicit in public, and then the public streams started to include explicit shows/goals) It may affect how or when I visited her room.

Not at all. My friend has a lot of niche clients, mostly feet and pantyhose fetish. I don't understand it at all, (and quite honestly neither does she), but it certainly does not bother me. If anything it gives us something to talk and joke about.

Definitely interested in politics in regards to adult work and webcaming. Most of the ladies I follow work in countries where it isn't legal so like to know. Am also curious about how studios r set up etc.

With girl doing more extreme stuff, it depends, I'm not comfortable watching something if I know she pressuring herself into doing it (and would advise her not to if she's going to feel like shit afterwards) I've hung out in rooms with girls who r honest and don't want to be there but couldn't handle it if they kept going out of their comfort zone. With other girls I don't mind, the pervert in me loves the idea of a second girl but again only if comfortable. Guys tbh no, I'm not stupid and know multiple girls who have bfs but I just don't want to see the guys maybe cause it just feels awkward or in one case where a girl did do a sex show I thought he was a cunt (not jealousy rather I knew he was clearly the type that cheated around and didn't help he first met her when she was 12 and he was 20!) When it's girls it feels like your part of the laugh (at least with the girls I watch) with the guys it feels more like outsiders.

Fanclubs don't bother me, sometimes maybe feel pressure if everyone in chat is green (on cb) will join a fanclub if its too quiet and can't afford to tip large (man was I pissed off when I found out that cb also takes a share of the fanclub membership) or if its someone's bday. More about contributing to income with guys who do its more about showing appreciation (and getting the ladies attention) more then having access to photos in bios etc.

I think when it comes to fetishes, it all boils down to what they experienced while going through puberty. If your first sexual experience was a positive one you're more likely to keep pursuing that type of person or type of content. If you first jacked it to a Sears Christmas Catalog Women's Shoe section, you're probably going to find feet very erotic. For a lot of men of a certain generation the first person they saw naked was probably their mother walking around in heels and hose getting ready for work in the morning.

The bolded, big time!
My friend works in a studio where it is illegal. She is not allowed to talk about the studio, for obvious reasons, and I know for a fact that our PMs are monitored by her admins.
The fact that she is prohibited from discussing it makes it even more interesting to me, lol. I am absolutely fascinated by the daily running of her studio.
On a more dire note, not only is camming illegal in her country, the culture is far less permissive than we are in the west. Camming is severely looked down upon, in fact viewed as almost on the same level as prostitution. Her family has no idea what she does for a living, and she is worried that she would be disowned if they ever found out. This is despite the fact that she gives them a lot of financial support.
I bought Rulta for her for this reason, and it is also the reason I have such a strong dislike of pirate sites and recording bot sites.

Why in the bloody hell do guys not believe us when we say to tip off the menu?! I wrote it, I set the prices, you know I'm not a studio model and if you're in a studio model's room you know that tipping the menu MATTERS.

Nah. for a few reasons...
  • It can come off as arrogance "look at all these guys that love me and how much they spend on me!"
  • Seeing screenshots of whales big ass tips can discourage new visitors that may have a GOOD number of tokens to spend, but they see that shit and don't want to 'compete' on that level to get noticed by the model.
  • I never, ever want to see my name in a bio without my prior consent!

When I've seen it, it's usually guys with a slave fetish that do it. Still weirds me out, even though I can understand it as part of the fetish.

Regarding your second point, why does tipping the menu matter more in a studio model's room? Just curious. Again, just part of my overall curiosity about how it all works.

I would ask that person to take me private if it was something I felt absolutely no one else was interested in seeing or waiting around for him to leave. If you're close enough to her, discuss it with her.
I think the problem there is that he wants this thing to be worn for an hour at a time. Now granted, I could take her private, have her remove the offending item and put it back on after the private (so he was none the wiser) but:-
  • I don't always want a private. Sometimes I just want something off the tip menu.
  • I can't always afford a lengthy private and besides, I don't feel that I should have to break the bank just to circumvent someone else's fetish.
It's only happened a couple of times so far so I'll wait and see.
