Hi everyone,
I wanted to open up a discussion because I recently received a 3-day suspension from Chaturbate for “repeatedly spamming in other rooms.” The thing is, I try to be extremely careful with my behavior on the platform—especially because I had previously received three warnings and truly don’t want to risk my account.

To clarify:
  • I don’t go into other users’ rooms to promote myself.
  • I don’t send automated messages or links.
  • I basically just broadcast and try to follow the rules as best I can.
Still, the support response I received says that I repeatedly violated the Terms with spam, and honestly, I don’t understand what I did wrong.

Has anyone here gone through something similar?

Are there any actions or behaviors that might seem like spam even if they’re unintentional?

Could this be an error from the system or maybe reports from users that were misunderstood?

@punker barbie – I’ve seen that you sometimes help users with issues like this. If you’re around, could you please help clarify what kinds of behaviors might trigger these spam flags? Or how we can better avoid this kind of suspension?

Thanks so much in advance for any insight, advice, or experience you can share. Even temporary suspensions can really impact us, so I think it helps to talk about it openly.

I checked your recent chat history in your room as well as other rooms you have chatted in. You have not spammed other rooms... Only your own. I think this is your problem. You are spamming your own chat with the same sentence/gif many times within a single minute.

One would think that should be ok to do in your OWN room, but it seems like you are banned for that. 🙁 I wonder if your users reported you for spam or if it was an automatic trigger.

It's a site that collects data from several camsites.

Terrifying. But yes it is possible to spam your own room and I've had messages not post because I was duplicating a message within 10 seconds. It's no different than if you were sitting there saying BUY MY VIDEOS and that's literally the only chat offered and it was entered repeatedly with no other chat happening.

Yeah, it is terrifying. 😅 I really don't want everyone knowing everything about my stream, income, etc.
I tried to opt out when I found the site, and apparently they don't offer that option.
I guess I'm a hypocrite now because I use the site often...but they should really allow us to opt out at least.

Is it considered a network site? Or no?

Aw, that sucks, op. :( I’m glad it wasn’t a ban though.

That reminds me how on Facebook, some people were saying they got violations for “spamming”…just for commenting “Thank you” a whole bunch of times to people who’d wished them a happy birthday on their FB timeline.

It doesn't catch PMs or DMs and sometimes misses messages completely, the only way to be sure is to export chat history (I mean assuming studio of course, if they are independent and no one else has access to their account then yeah it's probably as you said).

No, disabling network sites has no impact on that website collecting information.

Hi @Squinkie thank you so much for taking the time to look into my case and explain everything so clearly.

Honestly, I didn’t know that sending repeated messages or similar GIFs in my own room could be considered spam. I thought it only applied to messages sent in other people’s rooms or promotional content.

I’ll definitely be more careful moving forward. I don’t use bots or automated tools, but I do tend to say thank you or interact frequently using similar phrases or images—and now I understand how that might trigger the system filters or even lead to user reports.

I really appreciate your help
